Any one else worried about the football team this year?

Less than that. It was having some balls deep in Michigan territory and two missed field goals away from being 9-2.

This is my point. few breaks go the other way, and we lose a few more games. few breaks go our way, and we win more games.

this years team may be one of the best in totality, talent and depth that KF has ever fielded at Iowa. But hopefully they make, create and get all the breaks for another great season.

I don't think anything in the spring practice ever passes the eye test, and it goes without saying that Iowa is one play from disaster. Every team in the country is one play from disaster.

Well stated....c.i.p. Oklahoma 2009; Texas in the BCS Championship game last season.

Sure, let's spend the whole rest of the Spring and all of Summer worrying about aspects of the football team.

Sorry, with Washington's budget deficit ballooning out of control, economies around the world tanking, Iran about to get nuclear weapons, the Koreas threatening each other with war, oil continuing to gush in the Gulf and the unmitigated flow of drugs, weapons and criminals across the Southern border, Iowa football is well down the list of my things to worry about.

Ok, let's bring this thread back to Football since this is the Football forum??

I find it interesting that no one has mentioned a couple of very important numbers from last years O that are important to this years O's success. That would be 4 and 15. The number 4 is how many pick sixs that were given up and 15 is the number of the INT thrown by our starting QB. I think that the success of the O rest mainly on how Stanzi is able to manage his game better then last year.

With Rieff,Gettis,Ferentz/Koeppel, Vandervelde, Zusevics and Reisner all having extensive experience you are looking at an better than average O-line. I think we all realize that it may take a few games to gel and with our D-fence we are provided with a opportunity to have time to gel. I believe that Stanzi will be the bell curve of how this O-fence with preform this year. We all have seen in past years this staffs ability to coach up the O line and this year will be no different.

Sports have always been a release for people. That's why FDR made sure that MLB kept afloat during the Great Depression, and why we had the AAGPBL during WWII. So why don't you wake up and realize that stuff like Iowa football is something better for us to worry about. Because as average citizens, we have ZERO control over Korea, Iran, the economy, or any of that stuff. If I've got no control over that stuff (which is depressing stuff to begin with), then I'm not going to worry about it, because there's nothing I can do about it.
