*** meant to say, any CHANCE USC sanctions saves the Big 12 ***
Just a thought, but if USC doesnt win any appeals, they wont be relevant as far as major bowl games etc for 2 years, which could hurt recruiting as well as cause some players to transfer "back home". Since the fans in SoCal are known to be fair-weather, they wont be as interested in college football for a while (unless a miracle happens and UCLA blossoms). Since LA is one of the major markets for the Pac-10, could that lower the demand for a Pac 10(16) network and give pause to Texas moving to the Pac 10. Texas could then create their own network and stay in the Big 12 and the conference could just invite teams like TCU, Utah, BYU, or Houston to be replacements?
Or do you think the Big 12 teams will seize the opportunity to put some distance between themselves and USC during the sanctions and move in and try to take over?
Thoughts?
