Any chance KF retires?

If Iowa wins less than 6 games, do you think there is any chance KF retires? He has always been a stand up person. Maybe he would just walk away.

Doubt it. After lean years from 2005-2008, he was making big coin compared to the record on the field.
Then, he has a great season in 2009, where most bounces went his way, and Kirk looked very selfish asking for even more money.
Kirk will be stubborn, and not know when to leave.

Hayden knew when to leave (despite the cancer), and his legacy is rock solid.
I saw Hayden asking for better practice facilities, but I don't remember after the 1991 Rose Bowl, that Hayden asked the AD for more money, etc., like Kirk did after the Orange Bowl after the 2009 season.

I never imagine Carver-Hawkeye being as empty, as it was during the Lickliter years.
With every game on TV, Kinnick, could proportionately look that empty, if we continue this product on the field.

Maybe it is wishful thinking but . . . I would lose all respect if he was fired and still took all that money. The lifetime contract greatly compensated Kirk for all his success. I still think he does the right thing when or if it comes to that.

I hope they at least win 6 games and don't come to that.

do u really think that's possible?

Iowa should have a chance in the next 4. Then add in Purdue. It wouldn't surprise me to see Iowa upset someone. 6 isn't out of reach yet.

If my boss was paying me over 300K a month and had no positive expectations for me, why would I quit?

If you are poor and need money you definitely would. Many people who make a lot of money work hard and plan financially so that they can retire early. These people have already made enough money to buy everything they'll ever need and they'd rather enjoy life and not have the stress of working every day.

How much would his agent be owed? You would think his agent wont let him walk from that.

I would think he could walk take the money pay his agent and then give most of it back to look better.

None of this will happen though^^^^^Fact.

I hope not, I don't think Brian is ready yet.

made me chuckle ... but not "Like" worthy.

Only because it might actually be plausible and the whole program would continue on "Lick" cycle indfinitely during what would be a Garbaranteed 10 years to start.

zero chance. he doesn't even have to do anything these days except show up for games then go home and dive into his money vault a la Scrooge McDuck.

It won't happen this year. However the Iowa Fan and Alumini Heat heat is increasing in intensity. I don't know the answer to when or what will be the breaking point for KF, but trust me if this crap continues he will walk away..

One last thing the longer this continues and the longer KF stays the more it hurts Barta as well.
