I have been watching some videos of Robles wrestling and I am quite confused at how to go about wrestling him. I haven't really seen any takedowns that are good to use on him. It seem that is is best to just get a underhook and plow him over and spin around. And then if he is on top, it seems near impossible to get out. Anybody have any idea what works on this kid??? Very nervous about McDonough seeing him at nationals.

coaches will have a plan and im sure he has seen tape on him. you have to completly change your frame of mind when wrestling

i remember having to go up against andy rousch of wilton and dreaded it because of the funky stance etc. you that follow wrestling im sure remember him he was very successful being ranked 2nd going into state but got upset 1st round so never got to wrestle him thank god

What the coaches do to prepare for him is they have the 125 lb guy wrestle a 149 lb guy standing up while the 149 lb guy is on his knees

For starters you wrestle him on your feet. Once you start rolling around on the mat with him you are going to get yourself in trouble. Get an early lead and take neutral!

I heard Ironside say that wrestling Robles is like a 25 pounder matching up against a guy with the strength of a 65 pounder. The guy is extremely strong.

It's hilarious to say that a guy with one leg has an unfair advantage, but he almost does. When you look at him, you'd think you would easily be able to get around and behind him for the automatic 2 as he is always already down on the mat. But he's quick enough to stop that, and from what I saw of him last year in the NCAA's everyone wrestled his style. I couldn't understand that. Guys would get down on one knee and wrestle him low to the ground. I don't know squat about the finer points of wrestling, but this guys is very strong and you don't want to be down on the mat against him.
