Answer: Alabama, Georgia, Florida St., Louisville, & Iowa

Question: Which teams will have at least two first round draft choices in the NFL draft tonight?

Pretty impressive work...and it has to help on the recruiting trail. If we can get the follow through with Jewell, Welch, Wadley, and Neiman...that would be a nice cherry on the top of this class. Don't kid yourself...a recruit walking into a pro football player factory is pretty important. Those murals go a long way in kids seeing themselves at Iowa.

Nice job jinxing it...

Any predictions for the second round?

Question: What are the top 5 schools for a 5 star player from the state of Iowa who has always been a fan of the Hawkeyes and hookers?

One has to wonder if Daniels and Jackson knew they'd slip into the 2nd round if they'd have still left early... I can only imagine how they must feel. Hell I felt like I was kicked in the nuts. When they started rattling off all the off the field crap on Hughes I just can't believe he'd get taken over Jackson...
I really don't think off the field stuff matters at all to the NFL. Between that and Mayfield getting taken #1 along with the plethora of other examples in years gone by I wonder why they even pretend to make a big deal over whatever baggage a player may have... Cause teams don't care.

Notre dame had two top 10 lineman. That's kinda nuts.
I didn't see my 49ers taking that tackle at all... After the Bears took Smith I figured they'd get that LB from VA or FSU safety.
That said the pick makes sense with Staley getting up there and other tackle on his last yr of his contract. (along with Fosters gf retracting her accusations against him)

Iowa gained, what, 64 yards vs Wisconsin...can a team with two first round picks (hypothetically) and other high draft picks allow such a game, with that much "high level" talent?

Reality check for Iowa...101, once again it seems.

Well, Jackson tried to keep pace by having two pick sixes in the first half. That alone should have gotten him in the first round. It's the typical...give me the guy who ran the 4.34 since it's faster routine by the NFL GMs. I still think he's a first round talent.

This is but one reason why I think the whole system needs tweaked. Both Jackson and Daniels got info that even KF felt comfortable with them going. But if some committee is just throwing out numbers, there needs to be an out for players that don't like their draft position.

I still think Jackson and Daniels didn't make "bad" decisions, but to have guys sitting in a "green room" is as likely as not to backfire. I will NEVER forget Gary Leonard from Missouri in th e 1989 NBA draft. He sat totally alone until almost the very end of the second round. It got worse every time the camera went to that room and showed him almost at the point of tears.

NFL people look for reasons to not take players, not so much reasons to take them, to rule them out for early picks. Jackson's 40 time probably needed to be a tenth of a second faster for him to be a first round guy, despite how obviously good he shows on film.

Once several teams "pass" the whisper is...what did we miss?...best to take a "safer" name...

Thus...bargains drift down the board...for the Patriots and others to harvest.

Might get worse for them. Browns have #1 and 4 picks again in the 2nd.

Not a 1st round pick, and you're going to NFL hell !

Colts also w/ 2 of the next 5 picks...

There's been so many examples of how when your talking about the difference between a 4.4 and 4.5 time being almost irrelevant. This is why every year there's going to be players taken later than guys that are faster that end up having better careers.
Josey Jewell is going to have the same thing happen to him just further down. I will guarantee you he will be a starting NFL linebacker in this league but he's going to drop way further than where he should. Both he and Jackson are better players than they are combine performers. Don't get me wrong there's a minimum amount of athleticism that's required to play football for sure. But they both exceed that by a mile.
