ANOTHER mock draft. This one fresh and VERY surprising.

You guys absolutely kill me. If you think a reporter asking a question like to that Hock is going to distract him from his prep then you have totally bought into KF's frequent BS. This is about KF reclaiming the narrative post Fant.

KF has to understand not everyone is as fragile and controlling as him. Yep, he would have made a helluva NFL coach. The press would have laughed him out of Jacksonville, not to mention New York.

I am no expert on the draft obviously but I presume this guy knows a little more than us. This is only the second or third time I have seen Hock's name mentioned in the first few rounds and the first time in the first. So yeah, could be noteworthy.

The time a football player has these days is limited. Probably more than ever. Just ask CJ Fiedorowicz.

These are merely exhibitions KF. Our game is irrelevant in the big picture. The press can ask any question they like. Get it over it and Have a Merry Christmas!!

Yes, KF is the fragile one when you'd rather turn a comment he made in passing to people he knows well into an issue.

The #4 overall pick in last year's draft just suffered his 3rd concussion of the season (and of his FB career) and may have a very short career. I would always advise someone that could go, to go ASAP.

How is this about KF?
Because KF played TJ?
Everyone was complaining about Fant, when I suggested that TJ could actually be pretty good?

Idk, I hope TJ comes back, I really do think another year could help him, but ...... You have weigh it out.
First round is tough to turn down. On the other side, he would enter his JR year a preseason favorite in about every award. His name will be plastered everywhere next year if he comes back.
Right now, it's based on film and play, which is great, yet the hype machine (advertising) hasn't begun to catch up.
Where that matters is, he is a steal. Except for the much deserved awards at the end of the season.
Problem with "steals" is.... Well look at how many Hawks play on Sunday that we're steals.
Either way I wish him luck. I just don't know, if the consensus is mid second round or better, if he will or anyone would come back. Maybe in the next week I will sit down and see if I can come up with my own selection numbers for our guys. If I have the time.

Btw merry Christmas Hawksters!!

What I take from that read is that our offensive line will be facing two defensive linemen Tuesday projected to go in the top 14...

I have probably looked at a couple of dozen mock drafts and I believe those two guys have been included in the first round of all of them. ??

Their supporting cast must be pretty good too.
Having said that watch both teams score 40. They will be more athletic but bowl games/exhibitions are often about who is most motivated to play.

There's video on this site (don't know exactly where and I'm too lazy tonight to look it up) about a reporter asking Hock about exactly what you complain about. He was asked and he answered that he was going to begin consideration AFTER the bowl game. Apparently you just ignored it because it doesn't show the appropriate amount of hate of the coaching staff that you have.

I don't dislike the staff. ;)

Don't fret to greatly. SEC D lineman are generally thought pretty highly of. I believe it is largely in part because the SEC has a large variant between the skill of O-line play. Obviously there are always a team or 2 with a very talented O-lines, but the rest are usually under par as a unit in my personal opinion. I believe that often that D lineman from the SEC are over valued because of their athleticism and success against the sub par O lines that they face.

I have watched the Miss St game vs Alabama and I must say the entire defensive line for MSU was neutralized and mostly irrelevant. In the second half MSU had to blitz from the secondary on almost every play. While our offensive line is not as polished as Alabama's, skill wise they are fairly comparable. If our O-line is gelling in this game I don't believe MSU's D-line will have a valid impact on the game.

The story will be if Iowa can keep MSU's sack totals to a minimum. They have a crazy amount of sacks, but Iowa's Oline has been really good at protecting Stanley this year

Thanks for your expert analysis. So SEC o-lines are subpar in general? Check.

Can someone do a welfare check on OKeefeforPrez please?

One would have thought he would have responded by now but maybe he is in a diabetic coma from the holiday treats. :)

Except for the top few yes.

Nothing sub-par about MSU's DL or defense overall. They are loaded and extremely fast. Remember how we were supposed to be able to hang with Florida 2 years ago when they had several defenders out for the game. No one injured for State.
I have to believe Hock is leaving. He is NFL ready. I like to expect that Iowa players go a round after their projection just to be safe. I could see Hock going 2nd round with his combination of athleticism and well rounded TE capabilities.
