Another mock draft but this one has some irony.

Noah Fant will be just fine in the NFL, the deal this year was so blown out of proportion over something so silly and It was made out bigger because of how KF handles things like this. Everyone likes bashing on Fant but the kid did absolutely nothing wrong, but yet KF and BF still set him a message.

Agreed. Look at what Kittle's doing and then compare the two athletically (not taking anything away from George, but Noah is a freak).

I am still concerned Noah has too slight a build to take the pounding in the NFL. Putting on another 20 lbs might affect his speed etc somewhat, but it might prolong his career?? Gronk is much bigger and has still taken a pounding and suffered a fair number of injuries. But maybe I am arguing against myself, I don't know.

Regardless, he has to be drafted into a good system that will hopefully use him like Jimmy Graham.

So hypothetically, if Hock and Fant were in the same draft and available who does Belichik select?

I guess it depends what Bill is looking for (obviously). If Gronk, who is their only TE with any receiving numbers, is going to hang it up, I'd say TJ is more of a match, because of his blocking. If Gronk is staying a few more years, I'd say Noah as a complement to Gronk.

About Noah's size, I agree that he seems to have a slight build, but could/would the team that drafts him be willing to sacrifice some speed, etc. for some extra pounds? What I really didn't realize is that he and TJ are basically the same size, but they certainly seem like they have different builds. I may just think that because of the way they play.

I agree with your points.

Re size. Take the player's sizes we list with a grain of salt. Often inconsistent and innacurate. CJ Fedoriwicz shrunk 2" once he got to the NFL. Just one example.

Hock probably seems shorter and thicker because in reality he is. I have stood next to Fant and I was surprised how thin he was.

I was shocked when I saw that TJ was listed at 6'5" as well. Was thinking more like 6'3". We'll see when he gets to the underwear olympics...hopefully next year.

Bill Belichek (KF's buddy and BF's former boss and mentor) is picking Mr. Fant in this one.
Some juicy subplots. Bill wasn't scared off by that by malcontent Randy Moss so I presume he can handle Mr. Fant and his family. ;)

It will be difficult to turn Mr. Fant into an All-Pro Specialist without BF coaching him, but hey if any organization can it is New England.

Why? Explain.

Kittles combine #s were freakish too... The only reason he wasn't drafted higher was lack of usage in college... The Bama TE OJ Howard was only other TE that had combine numbers in the same ball park as Kittle. Between 40 time the cone drills and everything they have them do he was right there... Noah will have freakish #s too especially with his vert it sounds like. He isn't slipping between any cracks though he'll be a 1st rounder.

In college, Randy Moss had been busted smoking weed and getting into a fight in a bowling alley. Nothing Fant's done has come close to that. Noah himself never said anything publicly that made him sound like a malcontent.

Sarcasm. I am a fan of Noah Fant. Not so much of the First Family of football. And they kind of say the right things but I suspect they aren't a fan of Noah's.

To me this whole Fant story this season is just another example of how Kirk would have failed miserably as an NFL head coach imo. And why Belichik succeeds.

Moss's fight was in high school

Fight in High School cost him Notre Dame. Smoking weed at Florida State got him booted from there and he ended up at Marshall. There were some issues.

He shrugs. Moss says he doesn't care about the world's judgments anymore, and it's easy to believe he means it. Certainly no player in college football bears more stains on his name. Two and a half years ago, as a high school senior, Moss stomped a kid in a fight, pleaded guilty to two counts of battery and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and a year's probation. That cost him a scholarship to Notre Dame. He enrolled at Florida State. The following spring he broke probation by smoking marijuana, was kicked out of Florida State and served two more months in prison. Then last fall, as Moss was on his way to shattering various NCAA and Marshall records with 28 touchdowns and 1,709 receiving yards as a freshman, he was charged with domestic battery against the mother of his baby daughter.

Getting kicked out of Florida State back when Bowden was coach was quite a feat. Randy is my favorite player ever.
