Many calls missed throughout a game..

That is what it boils down to.....

A call, of some sort, could be made on almost every play in a game....

That is why the drastic calls that decide a game are so controversial. It is unusual to make a call like that at the end of an NCAA tournament game....

I didn't check the link, but if that's true they absolutely should have refused themselves, if for no other reason than to avoid the perception of impropriety.
