Another grad transfer?

OK, so Hoiberg goes from the NBA to college and grad transfers flock to play for Rolodex. Now KOK goes from the NFL to college and we're getting grad transfers flocking to Iowa. Coincidence? I didn't think so either.

So are we on board with graduate transfers coming to Iowa? Are we not ok with graduate transfers coming to Iowa? Do we not like the graduate transfer rule? Do we like the graduate transfer rule? How do we feel on this board?

Love it. If they can help, great. If not, we obviously had the scholarship open and they'll be gone before we need it anyway. Win-win.

It depends on how you define "we". Some of us believe in keeping your word, in meeting your obligations to the teammates that you have gone to battle with for three years, to the coaches who gave a kid a chance when nobody else would, to the schools that educated them and gave them a degree. But there are others who think it is okay to break your word, to walk out on a team. to quit.

I'll never forgive Ron Coluzzi for it, that's for sure...

As the saying goes, "losers never quit and quitters never lose".

Mixed feelings here. To me there's just different layers to it. I feel it adds a layer of recruiting for the coaches. Be it trying to retain your own kids (if you like them and how they fit) Or going after other kids that put themselves out there as looking. See there's some kids I bet that are at a school where they just no longer fit due to coaching changes and other circumstances. There for it's not like the kid is quitting as it is the current staff doesn't want them around either. Not every kid fits the same in year 2 3 or 4 like they thought they might day 1. Things change... Even though at Iowa we've had the fortune of some unheard of stability staff wise at the top that's just not even close to how it is everywhere else. Assistants move around at ridiculous rates and these kids are around their position coaches other assistants and strength coaches WAY MORE then they ever are the head guy. So when there's changes there so can the fit with the kid... Door swings both ways.

Let's not jump to conclusions until the rumor mill proves itself.
