Andrew Long dismissed from ISU

Coach Schwab just needs to recruit drunks from the other state schools and he's got himself a team ;)

I kid of course but 2 finalists now looking for new schools one who has ties to coach Schwab and the other family ties to UNI.
 
no **** he would have a pretty good lower weights to start out with!

might as well he has nothing to lose
 
Kudos to Jackson is right... but to hell with Schwab talk. How would he look in Black and Gold, wrestling right before or after McD! I wouldn't complain at all. Then Montell could some how come back, three finalists in the lineup!

And JOEY hears from the powers that be that he has another year of eligibility! 4 finalist return! Go Hawks!

Set down down the bong! It's more likely that Brands will be running out some of those blue Avatar people than that scenario!
 
Too bad. I was hoping for a bitter 4 year long rivalry between McD and Long (as a Cyclone). If Long can get his act together, they still may end up duking it out in the future, but it's extra special when it's Iowa vs. ISU.
 
Does anyone else think that the release of Montell might have maybe a little barring on this decision. Or did Long do something else since his last "run" in with the cops?

Considering that they took this long, since the incident, I was wondering if something else came up, or if there was additional "information" from the incident, that did not get into the press.

It is a shame to see a kid with this kind of talent screw up a good thing because of alcohol. I am guessing that he will find a team that could use his talents. Although, now he gets to sit out another year.

Yes, what is Clark thinking now? His starting job at ISU is back open again.

If I were to guess, I'd say that Jackson put some tight rules and expectations on Long that he just didn't meet. What put him over the edge could be anything from training to school. He didn't find his way to the police blotter again so I have be believe that it was just attitude problems that did him in.
 
every time my cousin has seen him out at the bars lets just say he just isn't under the influence of alcohol.
 
I guess I really didn't see this one coming. This is a HUGE blow to the cyclones. Now outside of Reader who will they have that will be a threat to be a AA next year? Lots of question marks in isu's lineup next year. It could be a very interesting year for both programs next year.

You can make an argument that Druin has a shot to AA but we'll see how he rebounds from last year.

Lot of talk on cyclonefanatic that there has been another incident. But there is also some very inaccurate information there as well.
 
I thought the same thing about Druin being a possible all american next year, but he will have to sit out next year, right?
