He looked good in the game yesterday on ESPNU...played about half the game. They won so he will be on again today at 4 p.m. our time. I believe it's ESPN2 today.

Every time I see him play he reminds me of a young Matt Gatens. Both are shooters and have similar builds. I was most impressed with his passing ability yesterday. He fed the post pretty well and found a couple of cutters despite his teammates fumbling the ball a few times.

We saw the exact same things...Gatens, build, passing, feeding the post and teammates' hands. Those were all of the things I was going to post but you have it covered. I will add that I saw a little bit of Jeff Horner with his court vision and passing. He hasn't done much today. I do think his game is more suited to team play rather than the AAU style of Oak Hill.

He had a pretty bad game on friday night. Zero points on i believe 0 for 3 shooting. They won though so he plays again at i think noon today on espn

Watched the first half of the final game today. Flemming got in for a couple minutes in the second quarter. Hard to evaluate on that but my impression is limited skills and athletic ability. Hung out at the three point line and made one three and threw up one brick. I would think he will be a role player if he can hit threes.

He's playing in the National Championship game for Oak Hill; Game is on ESPN on Saturday morning.........right now!
He hit a nice 3, really nice looking stroke and announcer immediately and exuberantly, announced
Andrew as a future IOWA HAWKEYE.

LIKE...........Yeah, I think Hawkeye fans are really going to enjoy watching Andrew Fleming.
GO HAWKS

How did AF do today? I imagine it would be tough to tell a player's skillset with that much talent on a high school team that rarely plays a close game.

I see that Oak Hill lost. Crazy they played that many games!!

Perhaps you should watch some video on Flemming? Your assessment could not be any further from the truth.

A combination of Matt Gatens and Jeff Horner?
Wow, I like that combo of smart, tough guard play

Fleming looks bigger than Gatens to me. I read where he was 6 ft 6. I don't think they really played team basketball at Oak Hill Academy, at least it didn't look like it. He is going to be a good player for Iowa. It will be interesting how it all works out. He is going to face a lot of competition for minutes next year. I think he will be one of many three point shooters Iowa will have available next year.

He's not 6'6 he's closer to 6'4. I think he'll be a great fit at Iowa too. I wonder who if any of the frosh coming in RS. They have 3 SGs in this class with Moss, Fleming and Williams. All 3 of them are between 6'4 and 6'6. With Ellingson having redshirted I don't see how the mins get dolled out. Letting one of em redshirt might be best but I doubt they do it unless one of em gets hurt...

The Bacon kid that is going to FSU is a ball hog and has no clue what the difference between a good and bad shot it. HS ball is so hard to watch sometimes because I think they only actually run an offense every 5th trip down the court if that. It's who gets the ball jacks it up. Fleming could have done a lot more for that team if say they ran an offense and got him more touches. He pretty much gets lost in the shuffle on a team like that since he's not asked to be a ball handler.

Flemming is a team ball player on a roster mostly full of isolation type guys. They use Flemming's court awareness and passing ability to set these guys up and he's a decent shooter from trey. He seems to fit in nicely with this class that already has some isolation type guys with Moss and Wagner. A quality shooter that gets his teammates the ball is needed on any roster. Has a decent frame for his age too. Looking forward to watching him in black n gold.

You could be right about his height. You can read all kind of different sizes for the players. He looks taller than 6 ft 4 though.

a posting I made (during Flemming's senior year) regarding Flemming being a role player at Iowa. Was followed up by a post that I should maybe watch him play insinuating I was underestimating his skills. Im always amazed at the assessment of players recruited when no one really has seen them play a lot and the "experts" haven't included them on top 100 lists. I saw one post that said with Hutton and Flemming we were going to be looking at final fours! Really the recruits last year which so many thought would really propel our program to new levels is turning out to be what most "experts" thought. 2 of the first if not the first recruited are gone and would have never played had they stayed. Williams looks to have some ability but was not much of a factor as a freshman. Moss? who knows. Not a one and done kind of talent like a Diamond Stone for sure. Hopefully will be a factor next year but as I recall had some academic issues. Wagner who I think was the last recruit contributed as a freshman. Athletic rebounder who likely will never be a big scorer as he just doesnt shoot the ball well Overall as it turns out not a great class and clearly not as good as a lot of the Board thought. Next year will be a very challenging Year for Fran. Cook and Bohannon may help but neither will be big difference players early on. The rest of the class look to be role players maybe, but then again I havent seen a lot of tape on them We have some kids in the next couple of years who could move the program up. If Fran can add a couple of athletic difference makers to them the future could be good

If freshman Marble was on this year's team, he might not have played a minute and he ended his career 1st team Big 10. It's dumb to write kids off after one year. We aren't a terrible team anymore. Most freshmen won't see a ton of minutes.
