Only Indiana and Wisconsin have 1 loss in conference play. We need the Purdue game and we're right in the thick of things...thinking top 4 finish not conference championship.

A top 4 finish would be very nice. It would get Iowa a double-bye in the BTT.

Maryland, Indiana, Michigan St, or Wisconsin are going to be a tough group to crack though. I just don't see Iowa beating any of those 4 teams regardless of the venue, unless Jok starts going off or Dickerson turns into a slashing PG that teams can't handle.

At least one of those teams is going to have to stumble quite a bit for Iowa to finish in that top 4 ahead of them.

I agree it's not going to be easy. But the conference season is going to be a dog fight and Iowa's front court is going to cause problems for most teams. My best guess at projecting the top 6 as of now is as follows.

Wisconsin 15-3
Maryland 13-5
Indiana 12-6
Michigan State 12-6
Ohio State 12-6
Iowa 11-7 (Wins...4 at home against MN, RUT, IL & NW...2 on the road against NW and PSU...and 1 out of PU, MI & NE on the road or the home games with WI and MD)

Note - I think the Iowa projection errs on the side of caution. We certainly could win 2 of the 3 road games and split the 2 tough home games...getting us to 13-5. We still don't have a bad loss.

It'll be interesting to see how we respond with Purdue after a 32pt *ss Beatn - See how Fran has these guys ready to play mentally. Like the football team you just don't know from game to game if they are going to show up. Positive thoughts and hope they find a way to get to a high level of play each game and maintain throughout the 2nd half.

Several months ago, I predicted the Hawks would go 10-8 in conference. I'm sticking with it, and I also stay with my prediction of their getting a #7 seed in The Dance.

Not a flame Gliding but do you really only see them winning just 6 of the last 12? I feel like my 11-7 is probably a game on the conservative side...12-6 being more likely. Whenever I reflect on the season to date I'm reminded that we don't have a bad loss in 19 games. We will have to have what I consider a bad loss to end up 10-8. What do you think? Of course I honestly think 12-6 but I'm sticking with my 11-7 from last March so what can I really say...other than we both probably hope I'm closer to our win total than you are. Smile!

Beat Purdon't and the Bad-gers and get right back in there. It's a tie if Indiana loses but Iowa does not play them until late in the season so someone else will have to beat them.

Plenty of people will beat Indiana before the season is done.

IMO Iowa is playing Purdue at the right time. They have two 7 footers but neither of them have the 3 point shot or driving ability of Kaminsky. Hopefully, it will be an easier match-up for Woodbury and Olaseni after going against Wisconsin's big men.
