An Optimistic View of the Indiana Game

Last year, with the first bye week, Iowa came out with a very sound game plan against OSU and looked like an 8-9 win team. Had they figured out the Radar package by then, they may have beaten OSU on the road as we had no answer for Miller's scrambles. Those of us who have been around awhile know a win in Columbus happens about as often as Haley's comet screams by.

With the extra week, it will be interesting to see if we have a solid offensive game plan to attack Indiana and play to win...not keep it close like the wonderful plan against the Clones. I'm optimistic that history may repeat itself and we come out looking like we know what we are doing offensively. It's likely we may have to score 28 to win as Indiana has shown they can score points if they get some confidence at QB.

Good points overall about IU game. Indiana's defense can be gashed in the passing game. I think you overestimated the bolded part in that I think the coaches were playing not to lose, not to give up big plays and they got nickle-dimed to death by ISU's offense and Iowa's offense did not attack at all.

We will come out flat as usual. We fall behind by 10 points. Come out inspired second half and win by 3. Beathard runs in for winning touchdown. We NEVER crush anyone. We play not to lose. It is Kirk's MO.

I will take a one point win in every game the rest of the way. IU's Coleman is a future NFL stud at rb. We need to stop him, and keep Sudfeld under control. Word is that their receiving corp is suspect this year. They unexpectedly lost their jr WR star to the NFL last spring, who did end up being drafted late in the first round.

I think we can run the ball this week vs IU....then use play-action to get downfield.
