#1--Was he on the radar screen in 1998/99 when we hired Alf?

#2--Anyone know how he did get onto our radar screen this time around? I.e. if he reached out, we had connections.....how it all worked?

I don't recall ever hearing that he was a consideration back then. But I believe it's been said that his name was at least mentioned during the search that ended with the Lickliter hiring.

1 - Nope.

2 - Me and HappyChef were at Nickelodeon in Coralville the day Lickliter got fired. GarBar walked in and was all like "You dudes want to take a look at this search firm report for our new basketball coach?" It was garbage, it looked like it had been prepared for another school because it had Alford listed. Then, me and Chef at the same time looked at each other and said "Fran." GarBar finished his drink, slammed the glass on the table and said "Fran." He was hired shortly thereafter.*

Yep...a legit question. I was active duty OCONUS at the time and didn't have any internet access to follow such things.

I guess I could have asked a 3rd question....was he on the radar when we hired TL?
