I hope this works out and we have the geographical divisions with MSU in the division with Iowa and MSU will have Mich as their protected rival.

Wisky-Hawks has been a great rivalry. It is the away game I have attended the most for several reasons, large stadium so potential to get tickets, it was in october for so many years so the fall colors and crisp air made it a great road trip, just a lot of great football games and the teams dont like each other but there is respect and no dirty play historically.

Geography helps energize the fans over Iowa playing Rutgers every year.

It seems to make the most sense to keep all the rivalries intact and just rotate the divisions around every couple years. In that context, you can pretty much make everything work, and still add in a sense of randomness. Some nerd schedule maker could churn that out with great ease each year.

I have always felt that MSU must be in the West to really maintain balance. I would rather have Purdue,but the big thing is the western border states, Neb,Iowa,Minny,Wis,and Illinois all play together.

Even with Purdue, the West would have good teams....Neb,Iowa,Wis,NW....hell, Teddy Greenstein is writing that NW will be top 20 going into this season...and should be. So that means Neb,NW and Wis. would all be top 25 from the West,with OSU,PSU and Mich in top 25 in the East....balance.
