All of a sudden, I'm very afraid about tonight's game

I like to live in "Realville" and don't think the Hawks will win tonight.

I have no intentions of visiting "Realville." The people there don't strike me as being especially bright.

The Hawks are favored tonight. Iowa has the better team...not up for debate with 2 of their starters sidelined. Iowa is playing at home. If you really don't think the Hawks will win tonight you're a troll or a misguided soul.

Iowa is favored by 6 points. Hopefully they win by one point. ...just win. MSU is like a wounded animal, and they will come out super intense. Iowa has to play fearlessly...push,push,push....and play all 40 minutes at 100 mph.

I say Hawks will pull this one out on a last second shot by Josh.....Iowa 78 MSU 77.

I'm hoping Josh hits enough of these throughout the game eliminating the need for a last second shot. Hopefully they cover easy. I just came down with the flu today and I don't know if I could take the intense heartbeats tonight;)

I had an old coach who told us once, "never fear your opponent, if you do you've already lost".

The stars are aligned for a Hawkeye win tonight …
1) They have two starters out with injuries
2) Their point guard is dinged up with a bad back and wrist
3) They just played in a very emotional game against their cross state rival
4) They lost that game so may be lacking some confidence
5) They are on the road
6) They Hawks have revenge on their mind from the last meeting

All of a sudden I am very concerned about the quality of Iowa's public school teaching.

Sparty was exposed in the Michigan game (at home). They look a lot like they on on the way to a 3 or 4 game losing string (ie. The Ohio State).

This one is an easy one for the home team.

After us they play Georgetown and Penn State at home. Those teams are terrible.

Calling the benches even is unlikely when MSU is healthy. It's laughable with 2 of their bench players starting.

I was thinking the same thing. Advantage Iowa in this contest. Plus throw in the fact that this game is in Carver. Iowa wins this one. Would be a tossup in Breslin, though, IMO.

If you go to the Michigan state boards about half of them are predicting an Iowa victory. Michigan State isn't devoid of talent, but neither is Iowa. On a given day, anybody can beat anybody. Hopefully, Iowa will win by twenty and this will be a confidence builder for the program.

I agree MSU will play hard nuts and will put up a good fight.
They aint gonna lay down and die.

But if Iowa has a game, they win.

Thanks all!

I feel better.

I've reduced my negative thoughts from 10 to 5.

By tip-off, they'll all be gone (hopefully).

21 straight in the book, Hawks are 6 - 8 points better than MSU right now on a neutral court. At CHA they are at least 10-12 better. CHA rockin in the victory.

Alright so after the airplane clip was over I got suckered into watching one of the following videos in the lower left hand corner (the booty one) don't tell me that none of you guys didn't click on it too.. it is the best of vines 2013 now that is some good stuff. To keep this on topic and avoid another ban I think Iowa wins tonight, Go Hawks.

You are just a Hawkeye Fan! I like to live in "Realville" and don't think the Hawks will win tonight. This thought process just comes from a history of following the hawks. It would be nice and I'll be rooting for them and hope they prove me wrong but Iowa just does not have a great history of success in hyped up games on the big stage. (yes there are a few) Insert reply with list below if you must! I'll be interested in how Fran coaches; Iowa is DEEP and he has options, if someone is not playing well and showing signs of jitters ect.. pull em and put in someone else, go deep and run run run. MSU is not exactly inserting players from pick up games on campus, these are division 1 players who chose MSU over alot of other teams and what I'm worried about is they insert a Jok like player who lights up the hawkeyes because Iowa did not plan for them.[/QneUOTE]

Ever follow the Hawks vs MSU at Carver.....

Michigan was the only team that really beat us. Every other loss we beat ourselves after leading almost the entire game. We led VIllanova and Iowa State until the last two minutes or so. We came within 3 points of Wisconsin at Kohl, that's with giving them 7 free throws in a row when we were ahead by two and don't forget we beat number 5 Ohio State in Columbus. We started their decline. We have learned to keep our composure at the end of games and make more free throws. We play the Spartans as well as any team in the Big at home. They have suffered humiliating losses here, and without two starters, one a maybe, but if he plays is not at full strength. I would think the odds are in our favor and they actually are. We should and will win this game. We owe them big time and Fran and the team have not forgotten the beatdown loss at Thugville and the sneaky win last year at Carver, the uncalled foul by Trice on McCabe near the end of the game. I will never forget the smile on plasticface's mug when he got away with it. We WIN tonight.....

All you have to do is viciously foul McCabe and we win......

Alvin Ellis their frosh shooting guard had a good game vs Michigan, and he is a wildcard off the bench. Trice is a vet off the bench also. Their guard rotation is deeper than Iowa's right now, with Sapp off his game. Sapp sees his ole buddy Valentine tonite...time for payback, Sapp!

One thing about MSU...every guy off their bench is a top 150 player...Ellis, Trice, Kaminski,Costello,Schilling...young guys but they have talent....do not sleep on them Hawks! kamminski and ellis are very good shooters.
