Isaiah Moss - 4 star recruit
Tyler Cook - 4 star recruit
Jordan Bohotshot - 4 star recruit
Luke Garza - 4 star recruit
Connor Mac - 4 star recruit
Joe Weiskamp - 4 star recruit with a numeric rating higher than any other Hawkeye
Pat Mac - 4 star

Okay, so they we are. Fran did his job and brought in the talent. Guys like Marble and Jok who weren't prep All-Americans elevated their game. So we know the guys who aren't 4 stars can play the game.

Absolutely no reason not to make the dance next year and certainly make a run in the years to follow.

Tell the board what your expectations are for next year and beyond????????

In or around top 25 the entire time.

Next year top half of the B1G finish - 10-7 seed in the dance
2 years - top 3 B1G finish - 8-4 seed. Be in the run for the title
3 years- top 3 B1G finish 7-1 seed. Be in the run for the title

B1G has a whole will be 'growing up' next year too. PSU will be salty. MSU could be scary.

Downside--could mask our improvement.
Upside--the league will be better thought of and 10-8/11-7 teams like Iowa will be given a much harder look at NCAA selection/seeding.

We need to eliminate those 'upset' pre-league losses, go at least 10-8 in league play, and we'll be dancing no doubt.

Thiiiiiiis

Tell the board your qualifier of "certainly make a run in the years to follow"??????????

Otherwise there may be a temptation to go Doooshmaker or dicksirius -- you know, haters who won't answer the question now -- but claim after the fact that Fran DIDN'T do ENOUGH and FAILED....

I have us at a 14-4 conference record next year with a 12-6 floor barring injuries. I think we make the NCAA the next 3 years...getting out of the 1st weekend twice.

Anyone know when the pre-conference schedule is released? I would like to know if Iowa is scheduling any tougher opponents for 2017-18 season.

Looking forward to the game in Sioux Falls. Good opportunity for the fans on west side of iowa to see the hawks.

I don't want tougher good opponents. I want tougher shitty opponents. Hopefully 2 teams in the 25-50 range. 3 teams in the 50-100 range. 3 teams in the 100-150 range. 5 teams in the 150-200 range. Something like that would give us an unreal RPI.

I thought I read somewhere this was the last season of the RPI.

From LA Daily News...

However, as soon as next season, RPI might see its influence diminish, a step that could alter the selection process and affect teams on the tournament bubble like USC.

In January, NCAA officials and analytics experts convened in Indianapolis to discuss the introduction of additional metrics.

“We’ve recognized there are flaws in the RPI,” said David Worlock, the NCAA’s director of media coordination and statistics. “We also recognize there isn’t a perfect combination of metrics that would be perfect in evaluating a team. But the committee feels using additional data that is out there and not being too reliant on the RPI is something that’s the prudent thing to do. We want to stay relevant and to be relevant, you have to be modern, if you will.”

Among those in attendance were the statisticians Ken Pomeroy, of KenPom.com, and Jeff Sagarin, of Sagarin.com, ESPN Director of Analytics Ben Alamar and Kevin Pauga, an assistant athletic director at Michigan State who also developed KPI rankings.

My expectations for next year:
NonCon - 10-3
B1G - 12-6 with a top 4 seed in the tourney
NCAA - A 6 or better seed
This could change depending on how Garza/Nunge transition to the big stage and if the chemistry is there. I'm honestly not expecting Conner to have much of an impact, if he plays at all. It sounds like baseball is his sport of choice.

The bottom line is that I expect Iowa victories against the Omahas and Memphises. I expect the Hawks to win half the overtime games they play. I expect the young team to be better defensively.

GO HAWKS!!!

I think next year will be a bubble kind of year, but probably on the right side of it. We might be better but so will a lot of other teams in the B1G. Sorry I'm not a sunshine-pumper.

Tell us what you "feel". Not what you "think". Then we can evaluate your rainbow illumination output.
