All Big Ten Team

Only problem with that is Cassius Winston leads the league in assists with a better A/T ratio than Bohannon, while scoring almost the same amount of points and does it off the bench in only 20 minutes per game. And I forgot to even include him in my original list. He might be a contender as well but I don't think MSU gets 3 guys on the team.
Point taken. I missed that.

I still like Bohannon .. .. :)

Hawk5656 would say all those assists were fake since he's feeding a couple of the better post players in the confrence. But Winston would actually have to be a hawk for that level of loathing.

Swanigan - POY
Jok
Mason
Bridges
Happ

Koenig
Hayes
Walton
Bryant
Hill (McIntosh)

I'm torn between McIntosh and Hill. Illinois swept NW so that's my tiebreaker. I'm not penalizing Bryant because the guards on that team are selfish...or just dumb.

How does Trimble not even make your second team?

I was going to plug him in somewhere but realized I was just doing so because of the hype surrounding him...hasn't impressed me all that much when I have watched him play. So I looked at stats.

Swanigan, Jok and Happ are locks IMO. Bryant is better than Trimble IMO. Below are the stats for the others on my list.

Mason - 15.1 PPG...5.3 APG...1.8 TPG...2.9 to 1 ratio...37.3% FG...80.6% FT...39.1 3P

Bridges - 16.3 PPG...8.2 RPG...49.6% FG...64.3% FT...40.8% 3P

Koenig - 13.9 PPG...41.9% FG%...90.6 FT%...37.0 3P...Defense

Walton - 14.4 PPG...4.0 APG...1.7 TPG...2.4 to 1 ratio...43.4 FG%...87.0 FT%...41.6 3P%

Hill - 17.0 PPG...5.6 RPG...44.4 FG%...79.0 FT%...34.8% 3P

McIntosh - 14.3 PPG...5.4 APG...2.6 TPG...2 to 1 ratio...38.4 FG%...87.0 FT%...27.8 3P%

Hayes - 13.7 PPG...6.1 RPG...44.3 FG%...59.7 FT%...29.5 3%

Trimble - 17.1 PPG...3.6 APG...3.0 TPG...1.2 to 1 ratio...44.0 FG%...80.0% FT...33.8 3P%

The stats for the other guys were better or comparable and they all impress me more when I watch them play. The exception is Hayes. And I think I'm giving him a pass because of his name, etc. So drop Hayes and include both Hill and McIntosh. Trimble is 11th and Hayes is 12th IMO.

I would take Baer over Jok any day of the week...in a game or on any accomplishment list...
If there were a thread about rainbows and lollipops would you chose The Black Plague and spinach just to be a contrarian?

Is that question for me or someone else? If it's for me look at the stats. I've watched a lot of games and think the other 10 guys are better than Trimble.

Someone else named revkev (I quoted him) who said he would take Baer over Jok any time all the time in a thread about first team conference.

As far as your list, I would agree with the first four and the fifth, IMO, is a hat grab.

Baer is a better all around player than Jok...it isn't even close.

More valuable to the team as well.

That's not even taking into consideration how hard he probably practices...affecting the team.

Jok can shoot...no doubt about that.

I have never heard commentators and half time conversations focus so much and so highly upon a (mostly) "bench" player, Baer. People who know basketball seem to love him...rightly so. (I am not an expert but really like to watch him play)

And none of those experts or commentators would put Baer first team conference. Close to unanimous they would put Jok on it.

By the way, this thread is about first team conference selections -- it's not about top five half-time love by commentators for "bench" players.

Trimble is so overrated man
I'm mixed on him. At times I've thought the same as you. Other times I think he's pretty darn good at running the show. I think he's someone in a similar boat as Jok is in that he was a young good player that came in with an older group. Now he's the elder statesmen leading a bunch of youngsters. I think that due to the group you have around you in basketball you can at times be a victim of circumstances.
As much of a no brainer that I think and many others here do that Jok is a 1st teamer there are some out there that don't... Many people think Trimble is too yet from the outside looking in there are flaws to his game some critique.
