Golston is a stud as well and is versatile. Strong against the run and can rush the passer a little bit. Can play inside on our pass rushing package.
Thanks for the update. If that ends up being the case that’s great. A lot of people were very concerned about the offensive line but Alaric returning would be huge (pun intended).

I agree. The one thing with Golston that would give me pause if I was him is that he’s going to get a ton more attention from offensives without AJE.Golston strikes me as the kind of guy whose draft stock can rise immensely in a year with more film and stat padding. Same with Jackson. You play one good year at starter at LT for Iowa and you have a really decent shot at going in the first round so long as your combine performance checks out. I think a guy like Jackson will increase his payday by several million dollars by staying.
A little surprising. I thought Jackson and Golston would at least go through the review.
Not to mention the fact that Jackson's heir apparent will have another year to groom and grow.Hopefully Jackson stays injury free and the performance on the field is elevated and goes from good to great. I am sure Petras likes the idea of an experience dude protecting his backside.
this just means they haven’t yet correct? The deadline isn’t until January (to declare I mean)
I don’t know what the deadline is to submit the paperwork for an nfl draft advisory board review. The other three Iowa juniors submitted their papers right after the regular season. The deadline to declare for the draft is January.
With Epenesa we're looking at a top 10 defense next year. Epenesa still is a first rounder and Golston is a 2nd or 3rd rounder. A fan can dream.I agree. The one thing with Golston that would give me pause if I was him is that he’s going to get a ton more attention from offensives without AJE.
I actually feel kind of bad for Golston because of his versatility he’s put on the inside in our pass rushing package. It’s much tougher to get sacks in there. I’d speculate that probably cost him 2-4 sacks throughout a season, which is pretty big for his draft status. Looking at his stats he only had 2.5 sacks his year so coming back to have a big senior year would make sense. I think he could be a 3rd/4th round type pick.
