7 feet farther than Wirfs. If he was an Iowa kid it would have been a state record. However the All time record is 207 in Iowa. Not sure I understand why there is a difference between state record and all-time record here in Iowa.
You do have to wonder if he could eventually be Olympic-quality in this event. Not like he's gonna have time to focus on it in the future though.[/QUO

Good information thanks.Usually, "state" records are for state meets and/or meets that take place in the state. "All-time" usually means the performance took place at an "invitational" which includes out-of-state participants. In addition, meets like Junior Olympics, Olympic Trials, etc., count in "all-time", but not "state". records.
