They hope that joining will convince Army and Navy to join the Big East as well.

Perhaps most interesting? Air Force basically turned down an invite from the Big 12.

I don't think the article says for certain, but I've got to think this is football-only move for Air Force.

I think if they stayed put the Mountain West could be in position to get the AQ bid over the Big East.
