Sure they do. Don't you remember the pitching staff they had when they won the series against Detroit. Those starters were patch work, at best. Just got hot at the right time.

Power pitching wins in the playoffs and without Carpenter the Cards arent going anywhere

Interestingly enough... only one of the pitchers you've named has beaten the Cards (Sanchez), this year. Currently the Cards are 2-0 against the Phillies and beat both Lee and Oswalt in both of those. Unfortunately, the Cards are 2-5 against the Giants, but none of the pitchers you named beat them... as a matter of fact the Cards collected 10 hits and 5 runs against Lincecum. Giants won because of the Cards bull pen which was the main cause for their April losing streak...
You might want to check the current stats before you post...

Say that all you want, but WS champions come in all shapes and sizes. It's not like everyone in the league that year had poor pitching. I see that Philly has a dominant staff, but that doesn't make them WS bound just because of that. Neither they or SF have a very good offense. The Cards easily have a better hitting team than either one. I'm not saying they will win or even go to the WS, but for you to say right now they aren't going anywhere is pointless.

I never ever would have predicted that after Wainwright went down, and even more so if you would have told me Carpenter would have ONE win so far with a 4.52 ERA.

Nope, gonna disagree with you there. And fans are what makes a town a good baseball town. That, and the stadium and the atmosphere at the stadium.
Here is my opinion: Twins fans are cocky and arrogant. See, I can do it too! I know 2 twins fans who are cocky and arrogant, so that makes them all that way! Yay!
