Adrian Clayborn

Seriously dude good job. You picked one play out of how many to find one example?

I dare you to go back and watch how many times he was blocked one on one. How many plays he gave up on in the run game and didn't even bother to chase.

You would be surprised what opposing coaches had to say about him on the clinic circuit and what some of his own coaches in house had to say after the year.

Seriously please go back and watch the season in its entirety and tell me what percentage of doubles and triples he saw.

The general consensus is that he was frequently double-teamed/had a back ready for chip blocks. You're the one challenging that assertion.

I'd say the burden of proof is on you.

This.

Dude, give it up. You just got owned about as bad an anyone's ever been owned on this board. Your best bet is just to cut your losses and re-register under a different username.

And this.

And to answer your question, hawkeye2011: I went to Youtube and typed in "Adrian Clayborn triple team" and took the very first video... So... No, I did not have to search very hard to find proof to back up what I said and others have said.

There was no need to be a jerk about it.

i think it looks like the Bucs took some weight off of him as well. he looks good! fast, sticks with the play til the end and is representing Hawk nation well!

yes ac was schemed around last year, but he also took some plays off. it wasnt lack of heart or that he didn't care, he was just physically incapable of putting out the effort, due to exhaustion, injury, or both.

there are many shades of grey in the world.

1. Yes that was some ownage (ouch). He was in fact tripled obviously at least once that we know of.
2. AC was a heckuva football player. You don't get drafted at all, let alone in the first round with out being something special.

But I will stand by my statement that he was often handled one on one, in particular as the year went on. That doesn't mean a double was NEVER used, or that he was NEVER pass blocked with the help of a back. I'm sure he was at some point.

I will also stand by my contention he took plays off. Why? I don't know for sure. Was he tired at times? Damn right. They are were. Even Klug who has a non stop motor got gassed, and in the OSU game gave up contain and allowed the run by TP. Was he demoralized by no help in the back half? Would have to be discouraging to have the linebacker crew demoralized and not their to help. Was he counting stacks of money and playing not to get hurt? Don't know. Was he injured? Could have been.

The video I showed does in fact show him playing like his hair is on fire. I'm not claiming that HE NEVER DID. I'm merely claiming there were numerous occasions that he took plays off, in particular in the run game, and chasing. He was relentless the year before. He still picked his spots last year and went balls to the wall.

I know one opposing O-line coach in the B10 spoke out at a clinic that they didn't handle him any different. And after a couple of cut blocks he was just another guy to them in 2010.

I was also told at the beginning of off-season workouts that a coach help up his helmet and told the team that no one would ever be bigger than the team again. Hey maybe its a coincidence he grabbed the one with AC's number on it. Could be.

I am convinced that there are some people on here that are literally incapable of being happy.

AC is tearing it up, and is one of a few bright spots on that Bucs team. I have watched a couple games and he is playing hard and flying to the ball. When other teams run a stretch right, he doesn't just give up and I have seen him multiple times be in on a tackle on the opposite sideline.

AC is going to be really good in the NFL, and he was one of the best Hawkeyes ever. why can't some of you just accept that and be happy rather than trying to tear everyone down?

There's been a influx of new posters or newer posters that are more negative. Not sure of the reason. But they really don't have a lot of good things to say about anything. They must be a blast in person.

"Also doesn't help when your offense doesn't convert 3rd downs and stay on the field. (kok reference:-0)'

Or when your defense cannot stop third and longs but let a team go the length of the field. That wouldn't hurt either.

The other issue was the scheme held him back personally a bit. He didn't have AJ and Angerer at LB as a senior to clean up messes. With our inexperience at LB his senior year he was forced into a contain roll often
