Addison Bjorn

Don't know how valid this is but it's out there in the matrix:

I did a quick search and I don't see any other outlet reporting it. Either of the two main national outlets 247 or On3. I also don't see the regular local Iowa outlets saying anything either. They all woulda been all over this and none of them have....

My guess is that whole site is some AI generated thing. I'm not sure. But there doesn't seem to be any imminent announcement tomorrow from her. They have some Iowa articles but no authors attached to any of it. I wouldn't give that site another click to be honest.

The flashy article posted by sportfiles2.com states affirmatively that Addison Bjorn was going to announce her commitment to Iowa TODAY. While there are over 6 hours left in the day, unless she is going to do sort of a midnight madness announcement, (like when some men's teams had a public practice at the stroke of midnight on the first day that NCAA teams could have organized practices,) (which is not going to happen!), then Hawkfnntn is absolutely correct.

Hopefully Ms. Bjorn does eventually commit to Jan and the Hawks, but for now, it appears the next Hawkeye celebration will be this Saturday afternoon, when Kaden Wetjen exacts revenge on the Goofers for Cooper DeJean and the Hawks by returning both a punt and a kickoff for TD's in a lopsided win!

Did a little follow up research, and found this on something that calls itself "scam detector", which confirms sportfiles2.com is unreliable:

Well, here's the latest from sportfiles2.com, which as noted above, has minimal credibility:

Addison Bjorn, a five star 6’2″ forward from the class of 2026, revealed in a TikTok video that shocked women’s college basketball recruiting circles that she has reduced her college options to just three schools: Duke, Notre Dame, and North Carolina. She also revealed that she has eliminated Iowa from consideration, which shocked a lot of Hawkeye supporters.

That site is worthless and none of that stuff has happened.

It'll happen when it happens, and by that I mean she'll commit to Iowa!!!

BOTH stories by sportfiles2.com appear to be completely bogus. Sorry to have wasted your time on either of them. This one below appears much more credible, and reports Bjorn has not eliminated the Hawks, and has not yet made her decision. Does paint a positive picture!

Yeah head on a swivel. Stay off Facebook sites with no authors... The legit ones like On3, or 247 are usually all over recruiting. Or of course the local ones too are always good. Just look for who's the author of it and if they aren't siting one then it's just made up trash.

Jenica Lewis is announcing tonight and rumors are that she's possibly leaning towards Notre Dame. It's crazy how many Top 25 to 50 players from the state of Iowa are going elsewhere. As long as Jensen keeps hitting on the talent, I guess it really shouldn't matter where they come from.

IA WBB is a top 2-3 NIL team
Obviously, top-ranked players leave our state for a variety of reasons, but NIL will always be a major factor.

I wasn't able to find anything specific about the Iowa women's program, so perhaps you have a source, but this is what I was able to find (Notre Dame has huge resources so I think it is safe to assume it is not that far down from this list):

Top estimated NIL spending programs (March 2025)
Reporting from March 2025 indicated these programs were the biggest estimated spenders on their women's basketball rosters:

Program Estimated Annual Spend
South Carolina~$10–11 million
LSU~$10–11 million
Texas~$10–11 million
UConn~$10–11 million
USC~$5 million
UCLA~$5 million

I would imagine that Bjorn is a higher priority than Lewis, but not by much. And with big names already in the program and committed, it's hard to pay everyone what they want or are worth. Unless you have the funds to do so. Any chance Clark is helping the NIL?

I was just wondering the same tithing, could CC be playing a part?

We seem to have come up with a funding source, whoever it is.

If we were to get into a bidding war, would it be over Bjorn or Lewis? Easy answer in my book.

From a University of Kansas site, so let's hope it's overly optimistic for Rock Chalk:

Is Kansas the favorite?

KU is one of seven schools competing for Bjorn’s services. Her final list of contenders are some of the best programs in the country, including Iowa, UConn, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Duke, and Texas.

Bjorn has completed visits to all six of her other schools but saved Kansas for last. And there may be good reason for that.

“I think I’ve always grown up a Kansas fan,” Bjorn told Talia Goodman of On3.com. “I had that in my blood, and just having my friends that are going there, I played high school basketball with a player up there, and one of my other teammates is also going there, so just girls that I’d love to play with.”

Based on her own words and the fact that she saved Kansas for her last visit, that should be an encouraging sign for KU’s chances as they aim to land a recruit who would be their most talented incoming prospect ever since rankings for high school basketball were first established.

Bjorn could be a true difference maker for this team alongside what is already a talented group of Jayhawks full of former five-star recruits such as S’Mya Nichols, Jaliya Davis, and Keeley Parks.
