Addison Bjorn



Haven't heard anything other than she was just in IC last weekend, played with McKenna on USA teams, plays for All-Iowa Attack for AAU ball and McKenna is supposedly pushing her hard to join her at Iowa. I would say we gotta be a 40-50% chance to land her, but who knows.
 


I read a bit about Addy. She's from the Kansas City area, is 6'2" and can supposedly dunk.

Their U17 team was out of the country playing somewwhere, Jan Jensen was there, and their two fathers met, became friends and supposedly agree that the Iowa women's basketball culture is the best in the country. Their games are simpatico as well.

Addy has her last official visit to KU (Kansas) this weekend, I think it is, and will decide after that. I believe the two girls have discussed playing together in college.

I've seen more than one person suggesting she is already a silent commit.

She is the #11 recruit in the county, Makenna #6. Wouldn't that be something:)

That'd be awesome if say she did that while on her visit last wkend. I hadn't heard that rumor and I have my doubts about that cause I don't think she's canceled future visits yet. If you're committing typically that's the next thing to happen and she's got 4 more of them lined up yet we weren't last on her list for those like we were with Woliczko.

I'm hopeful we get her but I'm not as confident. She's got 7 schools on her list still with Uconn Texas Duke, UNC all up there. Texas can drop a bag of NIL $ if they want.

If Iowa lands 2 top 10 overall players in this class plus another 4 star to add to what they just got coming in for this yr.... The expectations will be through the roof. Cause as good as those two are going to be I wouldn't be surprised if Deal ends up being the best of the bunch. There's just something about her and I can't wait to watch her play this yr.

Agree about Deal. It's not so much her physical gifts (which are great), but much like Caitlin she's got that assassin persona about her.

Bjorn has already stated that would love to be close to home. The vibe I get is that we are in a very good position and perhaps only KU is the competition. You never know, though, UCONN should always make anyone nervous.
 


McKenna Wolizcko stated she couldn't believe the explosion on the media with her coming to Iowa. Could you imagine if Addison Bjorn comes to Iowa. Social media would crash. Iowa has the largest fanbase in women's basketball.

She's going to start at the 2 day 1. I think the ball is going to be in her hands a lot. She's got a smoothness to her game. She plays fast but hurried if that makes sense from what I've seen. Granted this is a huge step up but her skill set of her handles and shooting will translate pretty well.

Well let you're imagination go for a second. In 2028 the womens final 4 is going to be in Indianapolis and they've already said it's going to be at the football stadium Lucas oil... Iowa could be smack dab in the middle of being really really good with all these recruits by then.. Imagine Caitlin sitting courtside with other former Hawks as they have a football stadium sized crowd of Hawk fans going nuts....

If I'm Jan I'm painting that exact picture for Bjorn to see and if she says no to all that I'll be surprised.
 


Bjorn has OVs at Duke Oct 2-5 U Conn Oct 16-19 Texas Oct 30-Nov 2 and the last one is Kansas Nov 6-9. Going to be a long long wait to hear anything! It at least gives McKenna time to work on her.
@Hawkfnntn I don't know if Bjorn was at Crossover at Kinnick but if she was that memory has to be appealing to be a Hawkeye for 2028!

Rumer is going around Addison Bjorn has cancelled all her OVs and is set for an Oct 22 commitment date. Hearing it's Iowa. Oct 22 is to far away and I hope she is a Hawk. I almost need a brown paper bag to breathe into. Can't say enough what a huge deal this would be for Iowa.
 








I think CC was in KC last weekend for a Chiefs game. I saw a picture of her in a luxury box at a Chiefs game with Taylor Swift.

Maybe she dropped by the Bjorn's house in Park Hill? Maybe she took Taylor with her? In a limo?

Then Addy cancels all her official visits.........

Of course, I'm just spitballin here, I have no inside knowledge, just fanning the rumor mill. I know no 'people'!

If that sort of recruiting didn't work then so help me. It'd work on me that's for sure.

I don't think Jan would recruit like that so much but why not? Ride the CC effect as long and creatively as you can. The lines with what's legal with recruiting now are so blurred anyway.

Remember back when Ashton Kutcher was at an Iowa game and came in contact with a recruit who was visiting? The school had to report it and make this whole thing of it. Seems pretty stupid and trivial now some of the idiotic rules the NCAA had. Hell maybe they still are in place just not enforced because they've been so neutered.

I've been wondering what the NCAA recruiting rules are, would any of this be a violation?

I seem to remember an incident in the not-too-distant past where a top football recruit from Pennsylvania who had committed to Ohio St was put on TV with Kirk Herbstreit and some other famous Buckeye and it was a recruiting violation, and the kid was told he couldn't then go to OSU and instead went to Penn St. I don't remember his name or any of the details, just the violation.

Oh it probably might be. After the whole gambling thing I'd say the NCAA is pretty much neutered now though. I can't see them being able to do much anyway
