Add Hayden Fry's name to B1G Trophy

It has to be renamed The John L. Smith Memorial Trophy. You all know it's true.

Just leave it as Stagg. I think it is neat the trophy is named after a famous coach that came from University of Chicago.

I agree Jon. Also, Bo and Woody probably would not be thought of to put their names on the trophy because they really had that mean spirited mentality towards officials and others that is probably not what B10 officials are looking for. Call it whatever you want, but I think most will understand what I am trying to convey. If you want someone form the 1970s on, Hayden would be the guy, I think.

If we must have two names make it Stagg-Berwanger.

Berwanger was the 1st ever winner of the Heisman, also from the U of Chicago and (not coincidentially) born in Dubuque.

That's a very important factor now a days.
Putting Bo's name on the trophy at least assures that there won't be another name change taking place. He isn't here anymore to do something as stupid as what JoePa did.

That doesn't really change the equation all that much, if at all. What JoePa did happened at least 9 years ago. He could have died at any time between then and now, and this would still have been tarnishing to his legacy.

I'm not saying there are any skeletons in Ann Arbor like the mess in Happy Valley. But Bo's being dead doesn't mean that such a skeleton (if it exists) can't be revealed. I just means that he can't do anything new. Being dead doesn't erase any past sins.
