Adam Robinson

I wonder if Stanzi knew about this

It's crazy to think that he didn't know.

Do his problems with the academic side of college precede the concussions and extra time spent in the whirlpool due to carrying the ball 29x per game? Just wondering? And I don't believe I am being facetious but can't guarantee that.:)

Stanzi knew Hannah Montana was smoking the pot. Stanzi knew that pistol the Bristol was not going to win Dancing with the Stars. Stanzi knew that Double Dare was a way better show than FunHouse...but there is no way that he knows anything about anything to do with a player on his own team.

All I know is A-Rob is my favorite Hawkeye. My son also went to DM Lincoln and Adam is a great kid. As you have seen on the football field, he is a great teammate and an extremely hard worker. I suspect anyone dealing with 2 concussions has the possibility to have trouble with his studies. If you have listened to him speak, he is very articulate.

Not to mention, I think he is underrated as a RB.

I for one don't care why he is suspended. I just hope and pray he makes his way back!!!

I'm still trying to figure out why that is such a big deal on the message board? Perrault shouldn't have thrown out Stanzi's name, but Howe sounded like he was about to cry. "You're hurting his draft status and ruining a good kid's reputation, boo hoo." As if NFL teams give a crap about what a Des Moines radio personality says. IMO I think the other guy on Perrault's show made a good point in that people like Howe and Kakert aren't real journalists because they have "a stake in the game" with a website. They are basically glorified fans rather than objective journalists. It was basically an argument between a shock jock and a Hawkeye homer.

I think both of them were totally unprofessional.

agreed. If Howe had such an issue with Perrault he shouldnt have gone on the show.

dont put a snake in your pocket then act surprised when you get bit.

Actually, that's a great point and I really wish we had an answer.

Robinson has had 2 concussion in a month. At that point, I'm not sure he had any business playing in the bowl game, regardless of the fact that he was medically cleared.

If he wasn't having academic problems leading up to his concussions, there's the very real possibility that he's still suffering post-concussion symptoms in a manner you wouldn't expect - rather than it being headaches or dizziness, he could be suffering from a lack of concentration and forgetfulness, perhaps even a change in personality. This is the brain we're talking about, after all.

Assuming Adam gets his school work in order, is there any reason that he doesn't come back next year?

Go Hawks!

Sure. Possibly he feels like he's the new guy in Kirk's doghouse and it will be hard for him to get out and stay out ("Coach is picking on me..."); plus the fact that he has been reprimanded yet again in a highly publicized way by not being part of the bowl team. It'll depend on how a young star athlete responds.

And we don't know exactly why he had the run-ins he did with the Captain, just as we didn't understand what was going on with DJK. (I am not suggesting any correlation between the two.)

I personally hope he does come back. Sounds like he's a great kid and he's certainly a talented player. But I wouldn't be surprised if he's the next transfer. I never thought Wegher would return and my gut is saying the same thing about Adam.

I thought that kirk said he was academically eligible but just didn’t meet the team standards. My guess is that his grades are fine but with the concussions he has probably been missing class. I am assuming that missing class goes against the team rules and is why he sat against ohio state and why he is out now. If he were at texas tech I would have guessed that he didn’t want to sit in an equipment shed.

It isn't crazy to think that the two are related.

Wonder how long before your "gut" becomes the next "inside/credible" source so this can spread like wildfire.

You have ZERO knowledge that ARob is transferring. And who said he has had "run-ins" with KF?!

I don't play the "inside/credible" source game. What I do post is what I see based on my experience in organization management. I sensed Lickliter would be gone well before he was fired (pretty easy call, actually); I posted here within days of Wegher leaving camp that I doubted he would return and why I felt that way; while others were predicting all sorts of bizarre scenarios for yesterday's presser (including that KF was resigning or a huge number of players would be declared ineligible for the bowl game), my sense was that it would be largely what it turned out to be -- a discussion of Iowa's drug-testing procedures and where things stood.

Right now I'm personally not very optimistic about A-Rob's return. Sorry if you have a problem with that.

Last I checked this isn't the Associated Press. I see nothing wrong with a guy speculating on a fan message board to provoke discussion.
