Let's hope so but if we're one player away from being that porous on the inside... it's not good.
We are almost always 1 lineman injury away from derailing our OL.
but, Joe Moore....
Manny Rugumba once had an amazing game against Michigan. Then never showed up again. Not to say Colbert's play was a fluke, but how can you claim he is the best LB from 1 game?
If my recollection of Manny is correct his reputation came from one play and he was actually not in good position on that play but it kinda fell into his lap.
Specifically talking about the one play where his name became recognizable. Pretty sure that was M where it dropped in his hands.Your recollection is wrong if mine is correct. I believe he had 3 passes defensed several tackles and then a beautiful play where he squeezed the WR to the sideline and literally ripped the ball from his hands once the WR came down.

I don't know what play you are referring to. His notoriety for me started with that strip pick. Which is never luck.
It was a nice play, but a little short of hero worship. The Michigan receiver practically handed it to him.

I like Hesse just fine but AJE has more upside and should be learning on the field. That's my opinion. Not saying KF doesn't favor upperclassmen, as there's plenty of evidence he does. But the Hesse/AJE example has been explained...correctly. AJ is seeing more and more PT, and is being used perfectly. . All Parker Hesse has done for 3 years is make plays, the guy needs to be on the field.
There are more young guys seeing pt than I've seen in 20 years. Colbert got a lot of PT yesterday.
Jones is a good example, athletically superior, but not ready. Was seeing an increasing call for Mansell, welp...we saw why he's not ready. Love the skillset and upside, but the narrative of "union card" is a little overplayed. It's likely exists...but not near to the level as assume here.
And never, ever agree with Caddy. Ever.
Colbert played the most time against our toughest opponent - ISU. Against the best RB we've seen to date. And he did really well. You should have stretched before you started your mental gymnastics routine. Are we forgetting Welch's damn good game week one? Or the chance that with a weaker opponent the coaches decided to get some other guys a better look?
The mental gymnastics some will perform in order to bitch about something are incredible.
