Just because Vegas and ESPN are picking the hawks doesn't mean its accurate. I don't get it. I've watched nebraska and they've only lost to good teams. They're a good passing and runniing team. They're really physcial and have some dudes on the DLine.

If Iowa can't run the ball and they push the ball downfield its going to be long and ugly day for the hawks. I think I said the same about Maryland. I hope I'm wrong. Afterall the hawks are different at home.

I would tend to agree. NE's offense is much more varied and tougher to defend than Iowa's. They've got a couple backs who run with determination, and now are starting to feature a scat-back in a way that the Hawks could take a BIG lesson from....where art thou, #21 Wetjen in Iowa's offense??? Dude is one of the best punt/kickoff returners in the nation, with great instincts, quickness, and speed -- yet rarely sees the field in Iowa's still-pedestrian offense.
The unknown in this game will be the Husker run D. They're not afraid to load the LOS, but even then have allowed some big runs. And of course, QB Riola, who's been regressing of late, but is capable.
I do think the cold weather favors the Hawks here -- tough to pitch and catch consistently in 15 degree wind chill.
If Parker sits back in base D, I think the Huskers will be able to run the ball effectively. What they HAVEN'T shown the ability to do is be patient and stick with the run if it's working -- like Sparty and UCLA did. Would like to see Parker bring the heat early and get the Husker offense out-of-sync -- which is doable.
