Aaron White is...

You made no point at all. You honestly think we would have 10 wins without Basabe? You don't think we will win more games with White and Ogelsby...two quality recruits. Your response to my post in the other thread at least had some valid content. Here you're just trying to be right with disregard to what's actually happened.

I guess it's all opinion. I'm of the opinion we would not have won 10 games without Basabe. You think we would have won 10 games without Basabe. This is according to your definition above not mine.

Last year we won more than 10 games without Basabe. He has been a great player (I am not going to sit here and criticize his game), but he is the second best Frosh in the conference and we are still losing games. Now, I think it would be horribly unfair to expect ANY recruit to play as well as Basabe has as a freshman. They will play like freshmen. Basabe is a very special player.

Now, maybe we can be great in a couple of years, but I don't think this fan base is that patient, or at least some of us. We have seen them lash out at freshmen like McCabe and Marble for performing like freshmen. I have a feeling they will do the same to next year's freshmen too.

I hope I'm wrong.

Basabe has been worth 4 wins this season. I'm not sure who would have replaced him on the roster had he stayed with Siena, but I'm not sure it would have been a 4 win guy. (I was also a little surprised to see Cartwright as low, but I guess that's a product of his poor shooting percentage and turnover rate)

Melsahn Basabe 4.0
Jarryd Cole 2.6
Matt Gatens 2.1
Eric May 1.4
Andrew Brommer 1.1
Zach McCabe 0.8
Bryce Cartwright JR 0.7
Devon Archie 0.5
Jordan Stoermer 0.3
Roy Devyn Marble 0.3
Branden Stubbs 0.2
T.J. Sayre 0.1
Cully Payne 0.0
Cody Cox -0.1

Good stuff Gravy... Where did you get this statistic?

I'm not sure it's that accurate. A lot of our early season wins came when Basabe wasn't playing great not sure if he accounts for four wins. Also I would say Bryce is more than .7 and Marble should be above Stoermer and Archie

Gotcha I hadn't thought of negative win shares

I still think the flaw in the system is that most of Basabe's contributions have come in losses but the argument against me would be Basabe generated wins that other players took away (negative win shares).

I guess the difference is Basabe's performance is worth 4 wins but he did not create four wins.

Whoa, whoa buddy! Oglesby and White aren't Royce White, Korrie Lucious, Chris Allen, Chris Babb. Come on now! Fran will never get the talent level that Fred will so don't **** off the Clone fans for saying our two recruits are top 150 and make it appear they are better than Fred's because their recruits are McDonald All-Americans.

We all know you're an Iowa State fan

I like that White and Ogelsby have 8 years of eligibility between them. Those 4 players for ISU have 6 years of eligibility collectively.

Somebody help me understand how ISU gets these kids booted by other teams. Is ISU the "home for boys" of the NCAA or something?

As a freshman Ricky Davis made Iowa a totally differrent team. As a freshman Roy Marble made Iowa a totally different team. As a freshman Michael Payne made Iowa a totally different team. I think I've made my point.

aaron white likes drugs?
