A. White

Aaron White is a solid Big Ten Player.... unfortunately he has never really improved since he early years (not significantly).

If White could have ever developed a real outsides shot he could have been great and had a real NBA chance.

He does, however, have a lot of bad habits... he is not overly interested in playing defense besides going for steals. This likely comes from a long history of running out to get dunks and easy points, probably since he was a teenager.

Overall though he has had a good career as a hawkeye.

He has some flaws but he has been a successful/productive bigten/divison 1 basketball player who no one really ever heard off out of high school.

We're talking about a guy that's going to end up very high on Iowa's all time scoring list. Maybe Aaron White is not the most talented player to ever put on a Hawkeye jersey, but if he's awful, then that's the kind of awful I can live with.
 
The thing that tipped me off to how bad White is is how often he dunks the ball. Make more shots from further than 2' from the hoop while the clock's moving and you could go down as one of the greatest hawkeyes ever. Until then you're awful.

Well the North Florida coach, who's basketball insight is rivaled only by John Wooden and Phil Jackson, did tell White to just dunk on people. Probably just trying to follow the advice of one of the greatest basketball minds this game has ever seen.

I agree with your points completely. I just laughed when I read the bolded. You know, he's only 22. He was a teenager 3 years ago. We all saw him play when he was a teenager!

Ummmm.....in your initial post you said he can't finish, then you said he should be a 51% shooter from the field with all of his lay ups. Contradict yourself much? I am pretty sure lay ups are finishing, and I am quite sure Aaron White is the best finisher on the Iowa team and it is not even close!

AW's strength is penetration and finishing, period. He rebounds pretty well to.
foul shooting is a plus. Nobody else on team is close as a finisher.

A lot of free throws are by products of his driving to the basket for shots and shots after he gets rebounds.
