A thought from TOS thread...

I think if JVB continues to play as poorly as he has been, it is highly realistic to consider using Ruddock. The same thing happened in 2008. Stanzi eventually got the job over the incumbent QB from the year before because JC was absolutely awful early on in 2008.

Yeah, that's true. But I think Ferentz and O'Keefe were the last people to recognize that fact.

You play the player who gives the team the best chance to win. JVB gives us the best chance to win. This is an idiotic discussion.

The notion of sitting your best is stupid, as is anyone who considers it viable. This is big time college football not NCAA12 on a PS3. You dont sit players that give you a better chance at victory to try and boost someones "rating" for the following year.

Here's a thought for you - If KF had Peyton Manning on the bench he wouldn't put him in, or even give him time with the first team in practice.

I'd burn a redshirt for a freshman receiver and sit one or two of the starting pass-droppers we have before I'd sit JVB.

Maybe Sokol would be a good fit for this scheme. A dual threat quarterback isn't something Iowa has had for a while.

...is it Peyton before, during, or after the neck injury?

Come on.
