A Quick Question About the NI

Suppose VCU should of given up a couple years ago then, right?

Who said anything about giving up? Bottom line, you know what the Hoks have to do to get in next year - win more games, and beat better opponents. I knew you guys were down about the NIT, but dang...don't give up forever...

first of all, the original premise is wrong. To win a 32-team tournament, you have to win 5 games (not 4). Minor point.

secondly, with virtually every team being in a conference tournament at the end of the season, every team has a chance to go to the Dance. All you have to do is win the conf tournament. That's how Liberty got in. Penn State had an equal chance to go, all they had to do is win the Big Ten tourney.

It's just like high school, every team plays post-season. Theoretically an 0-20 high school team could get hot and keep advancing. All you have to do is win.

This is a question that only comes up when you're team is playing in the NIT. Fact is, if you're team isn't involved is this really an interesting discussion or is it just filled with hurt feelings and sadness?
Actually I've always wondered this. It isn't just because Iowa is in the NIT. I'm thinking that the NCAA would want to do this because it would increase their revenue because more people would pay attention to the NIT.

After this season, the NIT is dead to me anyway. Iowa is putting the whole NIT in their rear view.
So let the losers play the losers and keep it as it is.
