A Public Plea

I know, right? It'll go something like this....

Your momma didn't love you. Your teachers said you were stupid. Your girlfriend cheated on you. Now get your heads out of your a$$ and kill someone.

now, kirk may be completely different in the locker room, but brands and gable strike me as the polar opposite in personality. once again, kirk might be one thing to the media and another thing in private, but he doesn't strike me as the "motivator" that brands is.

Motivation can come in a ton of forms. Gable is well known for getting inside the heads of his players and bringing up obscure stuff to motivate them. He's more demonstrative and loud. I suspect Ferentz's motivation techniques are 180 degrees different but also very effective. Put it into perspective, wrestling coaches have to motivate, what?, 12 guys. Ferentz has 100.

Maybe they need to bring in John Goodman to reprise his role as the football coach from Revenge of the Nerds. I find his locker room speech very appropriate after another humiliating loss to Northwestern:

"Y'know. When you were a baby, in your crib, and your father looked down at you, he had but one hope, someday my son will grow to be a man. Well, look at you now. You just got your @sses whipped by a bunch of godd@mn nerds. NERDS!! Well, if I was you, I would do something about it. I would get up and redeem myself in the eyes of my father, my maker and my coach!"
