A heads up for those upset right now

A few things:

1) We are going to beat NW this weekend (and cover the spread for you gamblers)
2) We are going to beat Indiana and Minnesota
3) We will be 6-2 when Michigan comes to town

So when these things happen please dont raise your expectations...because this team is still NOT GOOD. Lets keep those expectations in check so when Michigan hangs 50 on us we dont have half of Hawkeyenation jumping off a bridge. My hope by posting this is that if we all know that this is going to happen ahead of time we wont have a 5 day meltdown consume the board.

If I recall, we were going to beat PSU and be 7-1 by the Mich game. Well I'll just wait and see if this team can respond next week against NW, if KF is willing to do anything it takes to win, and then we can talk about Indiana, then Minny and then see where we are at. 6-2 definitely not a guarantee and 4-2 is far far from it either.

Depends on who you asked...I thought PSU was a loss (but I didnt expect them to play so poorly)

The point of my post is that it is very likely we will be 6-2 AND still be a bad team. Starting 6-2 and finishing 6-6 is a very likely scenario imo
 
I see what you are saying. I agree that PSU is the toughest of the 4. However, I'm not sure that our D can stop anybody, especially Persa. I'm just always worrie whe people start thinking 3 or 4 games ahead. This team can lose to anybody and I mean anybody.

They have only shown life in 5 quarters of football against subpar teams. Even the PItt first half was HORRIBLE. I do not get my hopes up anymore. Take it 1 at a time.

You seem to be operating under the delusion that the half of hawkeyenation to which you were referring to are capable of rational thought.

Man I really hope not. Finishing 6-6 and losing the last 4! Sign us up for another crappy bowl game. KF will be able to chalk up another bowl win though! There's so many bowl games nowadays that it's meaningless. It does give us one more game to watch the Hawks though so I'm not against it but a crappy bowl game is a crappy bowl game.

I'm really hoping for at least 8-4. I know that's pretty high expectations but you got to have hope. I think we can beat Purdue and possibly upset Mich State too. However, we do need to execute better and we need the coaching staff to have a plan B when things aren't working. They also need to work on CLOCK MANAGEMENT for the love of everything FOOTBALL!! At least give the players every chance to score when the opportunity presents itself! *cough* 2 minutes left before half *cough*
 
I have been picking Iowa to lose at PSU and at Nebraska since the summer.
I have been picking them to win the other 6.
So far, I am spot on. Lets see how it plays out.
Michigan is playing better than I expected,but the rest have been about what I projected. Nebraska has looked more vulnerable than I thought. No real surprises in the league for me so far.
 
I had Iowa with two losses at this point as well. I mixed up the Iowa St. and Pitt games though. I had originally thought we would beat NW. I'm not convinced anymore. I watched Persa play against Illinois and he still looks like he's gonna be a nightmare to defend. Especially with how our front seven is playing right now. Hope the OP is right but I'm not taking anything as a lock at this point.

Persa strong looks good. jNW will score points on us. I am not confident we can match them.

So can you contact those universities and their football teams to make sure they're on board with you?

I hate to ask this of you but the NW & Indiana games really have me worried. Iowa has had a lot of trouble beating NW & Indiana lately.

Minnesota isn't really in awe of Iowa either so if you could take care of this soon, I'd appreciate it.
