A game I forgot about

I decided to search and re-watch the Iowa-OU insight bowl game that followed the 2011 season. This game was notable for reasons way beyond the human interest intrigue of the stoops / iowa tie in. It was the last game of Kirk 1.0. It was Norm Parkers' last game. It was Ken O'Keef's last game. It was Canzeri's first start (Coker was suspended)
Van denberg was QB. WR's included Martin Manly, Kenan Davis and Marvin McNutt. Defense included Mica Hyde, Prater, Mike Daniels, Brodrick Bins, Kerksey and Morris. OLine included Ferentz at center and Riley Reif and CJ Fedorwitz. there were a lot of players that I forgot all about.

They dominated statistically in the 1st Q but an interception set OU up for a short field and trailed 7-0. In fact Iowa had a beautiful drive that stalled on a 4th and 1 inside the 10. A long Kick return to start the 3rd quarter have a somewhat short field to set up 14-0 game and another drive gave OU a 21-0 lead. All in all holding OU to 21 is respectable.

But the Offense was so .... you know. Until mid 4th quarter when Ken decided to dust of his forward pass plays. Iowa move the ball well in that drive and got a TD but time ran out. I imagined stoops talking to Ferentz in the off season ...Kirk your offense was so stale and predictable...

Yes, everything seemed to fall apart the year after in 2012

The Canzeri era got derailed in 2012 due to injuries and Iowa ended up with 3 years of Mark Weisman starting at RB. Seems like the only player who did not get hurt in 2012 was James Vanderberg, who played every single down at QB.
