A future Iowa Bowl in State?

I looked back at past Iowa's bowl game. 9 times they have played teams in their home state. 14 times the opponent was closer to the bowl. Only 3 times was Iowa closer. So I was thinking why can't there be a bowl in the state of Iowa? There are a few potential sponsors, John Deere, Hy Vee, Mediacom, Case IH would all be possibilities. A good location might be the Uni Dome. This would put a bowl in Iowa! The last thing that would need would be a Big. 10 tie in. With the expansion a spot might be available. What do you all think?

not.sure.if.serious.

Put down the alcohol and turn off the computer before you get any more great ideas.

Yes... People are going to flock to the UNI dome for a bowl game. And all 13 people who get tickets before it's sold out will surely bring in massive revenue...

Plus it's cold.

Plus there is already 600 bowl games

Sorry op but no

Maybe we could get the "Fort Dodge Natural Ice Bowl" going. I just dont know if they would take Iowa or not.

I had some more Kate Upton pictures to post but I figured I would at least stay off the ban list until after the game on Saturday.

I did some additional research.

World Stadiums - Stadiums in the United States :: Iowa

The highest capacities stadiums in Iowa go in order, Kinnick, Jack Trice, Knoxville Raceway, Drake Stadium, Uni Dome, Carver Hawkeye.

Well I would like to have it at Kinnick it sounds homerish to want it there, plus it's outside, as is Jack Trice and Drake. Can't have it at a raceway. That leaves the Uni Dome next on the list with 16,324. So if we want an in state bowl that's as high as it goes. I saw some high school games there it seems like a decent enough place. I'm sure Cedar Falls would love the bowl travelers money.

Nope, I just can't think of a better venue to have it, can you? I also did some research the lowest bowl attendance in 2012 was 17,835 so the gap would be 1511 people. That's not as huge as some of you may think.

I hear people all the time talking about all the bowl games like it some dreadful thing. I love all the bowl games and would'nt mind one more. I believe there are 32 bowls so that's 64 teams. That's great these teams get some sort of reward for all their hard work. You say nuts to many teams that should'nt be in a bowl game period. NCAA basketball has how many teams make the tournament. 64? I think it's the same for both sports. Seems pretty good.....but I like football more so lets do it!

So it's settled! Knoxville Skoal Bowl it is!

Good news is that we have a trophy ready to go for that Bowl game in the state of Iowa.

How about the ADM Corn bowl? They have deep pockets and factories in the area. The old cyhawk trophy would work in that case.
