A breakdown of Iowa's coaching search (Dochterman)

If Iowa landed Gregg Marshall, I would throw up. Same with Boylen.

Spank I understand Boylen based on coaching record but I don't understand Marshall. Is he really that arrogant? On paper he looks to have more sustainable success than many other names.

If the two aforementioned coaches are really our top two candidates I don't see too much to get excited about. I know that landing a "big fish" is not realistic, but I also don't expect us to settle for carp.

It would be one thing to bring in a coach who has an outstanding record at his previous stops but that is not the case with these two individuals. A Utah coach that just finished 14-17 is not something to get too excited about. Didn't we just fire a coach for only securing 10 wins?

Has zero experience in any capacity in any program bigger than a mid-major. We've gone down that road before.

Anyone catch South Park last night?

Hiring Marshall or Boylin would give me the same result as reading "The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs"

Fair enough. I am not saying I would be excited about Marshall but he has rebuilt programs. He does come off as arrogant.

I am starting to get a very bad feeling for how this is going to play out.

I am sick to my stomach thinking about how bad this feels like it will play out. If we fail lets fail and make a splash with Lavin. ha

Frustrating process so far. Maybe I missed it, but I have not heard Forbes say he is not interested, just he is happy at Tennessee or did not want to comment on it. He could have said absolutely not.

If you beleive what you read so far, the "money is not an issue" incentive is dead bait and not working, or no bait at all and not being offered.
