9 of Iowa's last 11 wins have been by double digits

11-3 run leading up to the NIT championship game. Only wins against Penn State (2) and Illinois (8) have been under 10 points. Pretty impressive play down the stretch by these Hawkeyes.
 


Still haven't felt comfortable at the ends of these games either. Probably due to the fact that we have lost so many of them this season.

The NIT has given this team a chance to get used to closing out wins. That will be very important for next season.

Agree. That game last night got down to a 4 point lead and they rebounded their free throw miss, and I was thinking we were in for another one of those daggers. But things have changed a bit from the first half of the conference season.

And this is one of the most beneficial things about this NIT run. I'm sure the Iowa players would never admit, but in the back of their minds they had to be thinking "oh no, we're blowing this game again" based on all the close losses we had in the B10 season. The NIT run has allowed them to wipe that slate clean going into next season, they now have had four consecuitve games where they have finished strong and closed out opponents.

This is very true. Something like this can linger into the next season. This run of closing out games has eliminated that possibility.
