8 games left how will they play out?

what a difference 2 weeks makes, from final four team to a team that may not even make the tourney.

I had hopes, but never was seriously buying into that Final Four talk. I just had too many doubts about our backcourt and ability to consistently hit the 3 point shot. It was mainly Seth Greenberg who was spouting the stuff about the Final Four. I was thinking Sweet 16 was more realistic.

At this point, though, I'm kind of thinking that we'll be fortunate to get by the first weekend. Iowa needs to put it together and finish the season on a hot streak, otherwise it's going to be playing a 1 or 2 seed in the second round, provided it can win its first round game.

8-0, win the BTT, enter the tournament 28-6 with a 2 seed, let's go!

(Not literally, but someone had to say it)

Now that we see the Hawks playing up, then dog bad, here is what I think.

H Michigan - Loss
A Penn State - Win
A Indiana - Loss
H Wisconsin - Win
A Minnesota - Loss
H Purdue - Win
A MSU - Loss
H Illinois -Win

4-5 back half of the conf and 10-8 overall. Not really very good all things considered, but likely good enough for entry into the dance without having to win too many BTT games.

I agree except for Wisconsin, I think we lose that one too and go 3-5 the rest of the way and I guarantee the Penn State game will be far too close for comfort.

Michigan- W
@PSU- W
@Indiana- W
Wisky- W
@Minny- L
Purdue- W
@MSU- L
Illinois- W

12-6 and in 3rd place at the end of the B1G regular season.

The sky isnt falling.

I could see 9-9 which compared to the Lickliter era is great...but a massive disappointment for this team. Iowa has to figure out how to get their half court offense going.

The attitudes of many are cracking me up. We're acting like losing to MSU and OSU is the end of the world and the beginning of the end. Maybe just maybe, OSU turned the corner last night. I was impressed with their performance, more Craft then anything, but IMO if he plays like he did last night earlier in the conference slate, they're contenders. There's also the fact that maybe it was a trap game and our the players were thinking about Michigan on Saturday and felt that we had OSU beat since we took it to them at their place.

There's still a lot of basketball left to be played and I still think we end up having a very solid year. I'm not giving up on this team and think there's too much basketball left to give up now.

So based on the current funk the team is in, does anyone really, honestly believe that we are going to make it past the first game of the NCAA tourney? I mean, NOBODY has any NCAA experience on this team - NIT should help but it's really not the same. I really don't know what to think at this point. Of course, if we win on Saturday all will be put right (at least on Hawkeye Nation).

I do. This team seems to play much tougher and better basketball away from Carver.

I am excited to see what they can do in the tourney.

I think 10-8 conf record gets us solidly IN b/f the conf tourney. 9-9 iffy.
So 4-4 the rest of the way...not that I would be happy with that, but I think it is the bottom bar to shoot for.
All I know is any bubble talk + Hawks and we will be OUT. See: last year .

22-9 probably gets us in the tourney no matter what we do in BTT.

I should also add that my routing interests have changed completely. I will now be cheering for Michigan and Michigan State to win every game they play...other than against the Hawks. Before last night I wanted them to lose every game.
