8-19-2014 @ 5 pm CDT BTN Live from IC

Despite the pre-occupation with Miller's injury, the BTN Live Iowa preview was very positive and encouraging for any Hawkeye fan. They were positively gushing about the Iowa program on this preview. Between Jim Miller, Glen Mason, Dinardo, Griffin and Revsine....each guy full of praise for Iowa, KF, the facilities, and the players/coaches. I have absolutely no complaints with their treatment of Iowa...just hope we can match their expectations.

Understand what your saying but it doesn't take that long to cry about it. Osu isn't the only relevant team in the BIG.

But they are by far the most relevant team in the B1G and Miller has been the conference's best player for the last 2 seasons. As far as an individual player goes, this is probably the biggest story in the history of BTN.

Whole heartily agree about the positive from the show; with the exception of Glen Mason. That dude was hard pressed to give too much love to team; and when he did, it was like pulling teeth! Must still be from his days of coaching at minny.

Other than that... The gushing was awesome, and again I walked away über excited for the season to start!!

Yea Eda. Mason always has a anti Iowa edge to him.

Actually Mason is usually very positive about the Iowa program. Whether in studio or in the booth. Particularly on their coaching staff, defense, & OL.

He just wasn't gushing over them yesterday. He was critical of 2 areas: depth & lack of big play skill guys. Iowa always has depth issues. Probably always will. Last year Iowa didn't hit many big plays. Willies has people excited in practice. Smith somewhat as well. Potential = yes. But in B1G games last year each had exactly 1 explosive play to their credit. So production isn't there yet.

His concerns about Iowa are spot on.

Mason told a story about how when he was at Minny, after another loss to Iowa, he went to his staff and asked them to give him their key thoughts on Iowa....and they all came back with glowing thoughts on the Iowa program.Mason was basically saying he knew that KF and Iowa were better than Minny, and he respected them so much he wanted to copy them. He reiterated on the program that Iowa wins with coaching, unlike many programs who win with recruiting, and he said he had great respect for KF and Iowa.
