7 South Carolina swimmers had same issue in 2007??

Like the article the OP posted, the swimmers didn't have any preexisting conditions, and hadn't taken any dietary supplements. Also, even though they didn't seem to have any acute renal issues, they were kept in the hospital between 3-6 days, IIRC. All 7 returned to swimming after some recovery and rebuild time.
 


Were they hydrating themselves or partying??? I think things like this aren't being mentioned because we'll probably never have the proof.

The swimmers? They say that they were well hydrated and denied alcohol/drug use.
 


Anyone have a link to Forde's article on this? Or isn't that piece of "stuff" that caring and consistent?
