50 passes out of your inexperienced QB

Basically, putting it on his shoulders......with the return of checkdowns and overthrows carrying over from last game. Seems like this erratic arm could use a few more plays from the KOK playbook that could buy him some more time to scan the field. More roll outs, more shotguns sets, bubble screens, etc. Certainly getting the ball more in Goodson's hands. Where was the jet sweep today?

Petras should be a game manager from this point on until the guy settles down.

But we got the ole stretch play for those 4 yard losses right?

This was a lost season with the off-season drama.

Agree with all your points but checkdowns and 50 passes.

Hawk fans have been want a pass first game plan. Got their wish.

the checkdowns were legit.

the OL was not good.
the DL was not good.

hard to win games with poor line play.

iowa’s lucky NW gave two TOs deep in their territory. Otherwise this was a 21-6 game.

NW had no respect for Iowa's passing game. They had a run blitz for everything, you could see their linebackers just walking up to the los. Petras has to be more accurate with the football, otherwise they can't do anything on offense.

Dead on.

And Ease off the 100mph fastball 5 yards downfield and there isn’t a NW tip drill all game.

especially to Beyer. He’s the blocking TE.

Fitzy has been loading the box on KF since he first started coaching against Iowa. He knows you stop Iowa when you stop the run.

Nothing new here from Fitz and nothing knew from Iowa not being able to complete passes over the top of NW's defense but instead throwing 2 yard passes.

No reason to start Petras next week. Shouldn’t have seen him in the fourth quarter against jNW.
Any chance that same logic applies to offensive coordinators? Can someone explain to me how we force a turnover in a 1 score game with just over 6 minutes left on their half of the field and were even considering throwing the ball.
I got an idea we hear about how good our running game is so let’s actually run the ball.

This is why I place most of the blame on Brian Ferentz. After the Koerner INT, the first play was a 9 yard run. So Iowa had it 2nd and 1 on the 26 yard line down 1 point. You have an All American kicker and you are in his range, even with the wind. All Iowa had to do was not lose yards and not turn the ball over and Iowa has a 2 point lead with 3 minutes to go. What does Brian do: stretch run left to lose 4 yards, then let his shaky QB throw a 100mph bullet that gets picked off. A competent coach calls plays to put his team in the best situation to win, Brian did the opposite.

Sargent's fumble last week was almost at the same spot on the field, with about the same amount of time left.. Killer turnovers two weeks in a row.

Remember Jake Christensen?(sp) I'm afraid we're in for that same scenario.:(

ISM pass to Brandon Smith. Oops, not this Sat.

Helps when you never, ever throw the ball in the middle of the field.

Look at the data analytics. A really outsize percentage of INTs happen over the middle of the field. I like keeping it off limits in the passing game.
You mean like last week to LaPorta? Ah, I see. (yeah, it was a bad pass, too high, too wide)
