To get ready for va Tech and get some redemption for this loss. Let's go Hawks!

I have a feeling we see an inspired and fiery effort vs. Va Tech with some line-up and rotation changes. As well as some more attacking offense.

Agreed... Fran needs to read this board, then he will know exactly what needs to be done ;)

no changes to the lineup is needed, they just need to shoot better by making better descision when taking the ball to the hoop

We shot fine tonight. Need athletes that can run the court, defend the paint and take it strong to the shot blocker. In short, more Basabe, less McCabe.

4 of 31 from inside the arc is 'FINE' shooting? I'll have what you're smoking...

They shot that way because they were out-manned inside. Like I said less McCabe more Basabe. We need athletes inside the paint. The jump shooting was fine, though and that's really what I meant. If you call lay-ups "shooting" then no the shooting wasn't good, I guess.

Yep. We are 5-1 and CLEARLY it's time for lineup and rotation chanages after a single loss. WOW. Brilliant.

We have played 1 team with athletes similar to a B1G team. We lost.

And thats cause for pulling a change in lineup? You need to just let your thoughts play out in your head. They shot terrible in that game. They need to shoot better, free throw shooting excluded. No reason to claim we need a new PG or White needs to move to the 4 and there doesn't need to be a lineup change. I pulled it off in one thread.

You like our starting five the way they are? You see no reason NOT to start the game big when most teams we play will be smaller and quick?

no it is not a lineup change that is needed, it is a higher percentage of shots falling in the little round thing

The shooting was fine at 4-31? This team has shot the ball terribly in the first 5 games. They need to relax and hit shots they drill all day long in practice. Once that happens, the defense will extend and we will have more looks on the inside. I'd also like to see someone on the weakside when Woodbury does get the ball down low. Seems like whenever he has the ball down low, and is shooting, their is no one crashing the offensive glass.

it's better for the post count if you start several different threads about the same thing(s).

I fully expected this to be a pretty decent shooting team, but so far, the results have been disappointing. That's not to say they can't get it turned around. Hopefully that starts against VT.

Still don't believe they are going to win a road game against a Major conference team until it happens.

Excellent posts franstheman. Safe to say WSU exposed numerous weaknesses, the same we have had since McCaffrey arrived. I like McCaffrey and credit him for resurrecting optimism in the program, but we are going to get dominated down low all season (again). Basabe isn't a post player, Woodbury is extremely talented, but a freshman and Olaseni is MIA. Give me a Doug Thomas, Reggie Evans down low and a juco SG who create off the bounce. As we saw against WSU, Armstead broke us down at will, Early made open shots and their bigs dominated the paint on both ends. We don't have anyone as good as these two guys, so we have to win as a team, with everyone contributing and playing smart basketball.
