I don't hate the real USC, I just hate lane kiffin. I didn't even hate teh petey carroll - he's to upbeat and cheerful to be hateable.
I hate notre dame with white-hot intensity, stemming from years of being bludgeoned by their obnoxious tavern-fans around Chicago.

Not really like, but not dislike either. More of a bemused ambivalence.
(Pete was coach of the Patriots when I first lived in New England; his pressers were very laffy because of his constant West Coast enthusiasm in front of a bunch of bitter, wiseacre Yankee reporters. "I'm pumped about the upcoming season! Our guys are jacked about playing the Jets!" and so on. That kind of thing doesn't really play in New England, but Pete didn't give a schit. And therein lies the laffy.)
