40 Forever!

Actually I've found it tough to visit HN right now because of all these posts about #40.. I'm 43 and remember the time and place when I found out, I will NEVER FORGET!!!

I just posted these same sentiments. Part of me wants to avoid it b/c it hurts. Chris felt like a brother to me even though I had never met him.

For those of you that don't watch it, you are doing yourself a disservice. Grab the kleenex box, go to a quiet room, and watch it.

I was 12 when he died and I lived for Iowa basketball at the time, but to watch all of that again as an adult gives me a new perspective that I never had. That was awesome.

I was an adult when it happened.

It's OK to shed tears for such a man and a memory. Chris Street was not a "role" model... he was real.

Even though not 20 years old he was kind and gentle and yet a fighter and competed... to his very best.

He is and was what IOWA is about... plain spoken, hard working and a Hawkeye.... forever and every where.

Coming back from 18 points with just over 3 minutes left to win, the first game after his death, has to be the most Hollywood thing ever.
