4 TE's in the NFL

Looking at the current NFL depth charts shows Brandon Myers starting for Oakland; Scott Chandler starting for Buffalo, Dallas Clark starting for Tampa Bay, and Tony Moeaki in the rotation with Boss at KC. Also Allen Reisner is fighting for time with the Vikings too.

Iowa well represented at the Tight End spot.

Yeah. The fact a good player like him gets overshadowed just shows how good the TE position has been at Iowa for a decade or so.

True. His Sr year he had a lot of huge catches that were overshadowed by other highlights. He used to run that deep post route with the best of them.

Everyone was so busy gushing about Greene that year. Meyers didn't get talked up a lot but he had a hell of a year. He made those linebackers pay if they dared cheat up against the run.

I remember Meyers having a great game against South Carolina in the Outback Bowl. His performance was overshadowed by Shonn Greene.

Meyers was a very good player for the Hawks. At least twice on the final drive against PSU, he dragged multiple defenders to barely get the first down on 3rd and 10.

And the HN crowd is WRONG once again.

Allen Reisner is also in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings

For those in Rio Linda, Allen Reisner played for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Travis Beckum (NYG)
Owen Daniels (Texans)
Garrett Graham (Texans)
Lance Kendricks (Rams)

Wisconsin has just as many.

Leave it to a Wisconsin fan to somehow make it about them.

At any rate, both schools have had some great tight ends over the past several years.

Pardon my possible ignorance, but does Houston run a double-tight as their standard offense? If not, then exactly two of the four you listed are starters (in fact, Beckum isn't even listed in the three deep). Iowa has four starters, plus Reisner and Brad Herman.

But nice try.
