4-Star TX CB Chevin Calloway Goes In-Depth About Iowa Pledge

2016 may be Iowa's deepest team in a long long time. DE is pretty young and thin on paper, but Nelson and Hesse played a ton last year and you have some back ups that have shown promise...the other Nelson for example. Other than that, you could point at WR...but you have a few SRs....plus a few sophs...and a few guys who have the potential to emerge (Scheel, Falconer). If you look at every other position group, depth is strong and losing one guy (minus Beathard or King) and the drop isn't huge. It's a young and hungry team of guys who have been in the program for 2-3 years.

Gotta admit, I was not expecting this one. What with the level of offers he received. Iowa beat out some real blue bloods for this guy.

Nebraska turned into a National powerhouse by feeding off a terrible conference. I for one hope this East West alignment stays the same for years to come. Who knows how far dominating the West and recruiting with these facilities can take us. Just implement a more aggressive game plan to prevent losing to bad teams so often and we could be the next Nebraska.

Never thought of that aspect. Very astute.

This is a pretty stellar offer list, and a real Win for a recruit. very impressed....

In addition the Longhorns, Calloway entertained offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Illinois, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, TCU, Texas A&M, UCLA and Wisconsin

Sounds like the young man is quite grounded and a good decision maker, based on keeping his announcement low key with what has been happening in Dallas. He chose Iowa for the correct reasons with Iowa's coaching longevity, ability to put CB's in the NFL, and having these players ready to contribute in the NFL right away. Having the 4 or 5 from Texas will help them with the transition of getting acclimated to Iowa and staying here, I think. Should help with any potential home-sick problems. I look forward to watching this young man play.

Looks like he can put a hit on and create fumbles. Looks like perfect tackling technique. Pulling this young man out of Texas with that offer list when he had no ties to Iowa is unreal. Another terrific season could really take Iowa's recruiting over the top, especially if they have a terrific NFL draft in the next 1-2 years.
