To be fair. He wasn't a Harbaugh recruit to begin with. I may need help with the timeline of when Iowa dropped the bomb on that Benneventi kid but Iowa yanked his offer after his lack luster senior season and already having 2 other qb commits... I can't remember if they waited till January to do it or not but it sure didn't seem like it was right after the season. It's a weird deal that this kid seems to be a legit 4 star kid. He'll have no problem finding a great landing spot (unlike Beneventi) Who knows why Harbaugh dropped him but it's a two way street. Kids can decommit last min too. Early signing days would be a great although no the end all be all... That'd just mean there'd be twice the deadline drama for each class...

just to be fair - colleges recruit the kid, not vice versa. who has more to lose here - the University of Michigan, or an individual high school kid??
The Beneventi example is a fair point but still doesn't make it right. At least Iowa gave him more time and actually visited the prospect to deliver the news. The MI lad states he received a call a month earlier from the staff telling him to get ready to play. Then 30 days later gets a call indicating he lost his scholarship. Prospect said he asked to talk to Harbaugh but Harbaugh didn't oblige.
In any case I think the previous couple posts also make good points of the relative impact on each party. By the way, Harbaugh will be oversigning this year as well.
