we've had 7 wins or less. We haven't won a Big 10 championship in going on 6 years now. We've lost 5 out of 6 to Northwestern. We've lost 5 out of our last 6 November games (should have been 6 out of 6 if not for the gift from Indiana). With the exception of last year's team, we are 20-20 in Big Ten games since our last Big 10 championship.
Those are not the stats of a team or a program on the rise. Sure, we're coming off an Orange Bowl win last year, but given the stats above, it's obvious to any casual observer that last year was an aberation.
I don't know what the answer is, but what I do know is that 7 wins or less in 4 out of 6 years is not good.
